⚠️Update on product defect A40/30 BiPAP Series⚠️ Due to ongoing problems with their A30 and A40 series bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) devices, Philips is now contacting affected customers and patients to organise replacement devices or discuss alternative options. The affected BiPAP devices may stop providing therapy on an intermittent or permanent basis and the ‘Ventilator Inoperative’ alarm will sound. All the following devices are affected: • BiPAP A30 • BiPAP A40 • BiPAP A40 EFL • BiPAP A40 Pro. Health professionals should assess whether the patients under your care can tolerate interruptions to their therapy. If interruptions of therapy cannot be tolerated, consider writing a prescription for a ventilator that is indicated for life supporting ventilation. Read more: https://lnkd.in/decFA3R7

Portable ventilator is one of the major area of research. studies show that undeveloped areas or community suffer from lack of power and inadequate medical care which some cases as led to respiratory issue. The hospital grade ventilator are too expensive and require a high amount of energy which some underdeveloped community might not be able to afford. Keeping track of patients with wristbands and Pulsara is solving long-standing challenges with #patienttracking. "The thought process with this is: every patient, every day gets a wristband. So if you do it [for] every patient every day, in a mass casualty or disaster event, you're used to doing it. It takes a second to stick [it] on there, take a scan, snap a picture of their face, and then when we find an ID at some point, we scan that in, so we have that information. Once we know who that patient is, it allows everyone from first responders all the way through to our hospitals to our transport agencies to be able to have them properly identified for tracking for your ePCR completion, for your billing, for reunification, for all those components." - Dr. Jeremy DeWall, EMS Medical Director at UCHealth Pikes Peak Regional Hospital When providers encounter a patient, they can give them a wristband and scan it to start a new Pulsara channel for them. Or, if they encounter a patient who already has a wristband, they can use Pulsara to scan the barcode to see any existing information and treatments that have already been provided. #HME #HEAT MOISTURE EXCHANGER #DIYI MEDICAL Heat and Moisture Exchanger (HME) is a medical device used in respiratory care for patients who are intubated or have a tracheostomy tube. Its primary function is to capture and retain the heat and moisture from a patient's exhaled breath, and then return that heat and moisture to the patient's inhaled breath. This helps to maintain the humidity and temperature of the respiratory system, reducing the risk of drying out the airway and improving patient comfort. HMEs are particularly useful in situations where patients require mechanical ventilation, as the artificial airway can lead to moisture loss and dryness in the respiratory tract. By using an HME, healthcare providers can help prevent complications related to dry airways, such as mucus plugs or irritation. HMEs come in various designs and can be integrated into the breathing circuit, offering different levels of humidification and moisture retention.
