Join My Journey is a Virtual Dementia Experience that immerses participants into the world of dementia and allows them to experience what someone living with dementia experiences on a daily basis. In celebration of First Responder Week, Wendy Bucacci and Lisa Nassif from Avita of Wells brought Join My Journey to the Town of Old Orchard Beach Police Department for a training. Trainings like these are great for first responders to encourage the best possible outcome when they need to come into our communities. #firstresponders #police #fire #ems #dementiatraining

We had a great time celebrating our valued community partners at our Appreciation Bash aboard Harbor Queen and around Casco Bay in Portland Maine! It was great to meet and mingle with referral partners from our communities: Avita of Brunswick, Avita of Stroudwater, Avita of Wells, Granite Hill Estates, Sunnybrook and Stroudwater Lodge. We were lucky to be able to share a little bit of our 20 year celebration with our professional partners who have done so much to support us along the way!

Our third stop on the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive was a Family Reunion BBQ at Stroudwater Lodge and Avita of Stroudwater! Northbridge co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski had a blast catching up with family members (current and past) and reconnecting with associates in celebration of 20 years of Northbridge! At Northbridge we know what an honor and privilege it is to be entrusted to provide care for our residents by their families. This celebration was a great reminder that our associates are not only caring for a person but someone’s mom, dad, or loved one. Interested in supporting those who do so much to support our residents? Make a donation to the Compassionate Caregivers fund here: https://lnkd.in/eSTNm5ZE thanks to a generous donor, all donations made this week will be matched, up to $25,000 so now is the perfect time to make your donation! We have one more stop in Maine before we head to our communities in Massachusetts- be sure to follow along with our FunDrive!

Day 2 of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive took us to Brunswick Maine and was a blast from the past and filled with circus fun! Avita of Brunswick and Sunnybrook welcomed Northbridge owners Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski with a Sock Hop and a Day at the Circus in celebration of our Compassionate Caregiver fundraiser. As we continue celebrating 20 years of Living Well and Loving Life at Northbridge and honoring our amazing residents and associates, we are constantly reminded of the reason behind our FunDrive- the Compassionate Caregiver Fund. This fund was started after COVID with the realization that so many of our associates do so much to help our residents and sometimes need a little bit of extra help themselves. This week, with the help of a generous donor, all donations will be matched, up to $25,000. This is the perfect time to make a donation to our Compassionate Caregiver Fund, follow this link to donate: https://lnkd.in/eSTNm5ZE We can’t wait to see what other celebrations our Northbridge communities have in store!

In celebration of 20 years of Northbridge, owners Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski want to celebrate the people who make our communities so special- our residents, associates and family members. To celebrate our associates, Jim and Wendy will be visiting all 18 Northbridge communities as part of our Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive (emphasis on the FUN). The Compassionate Caregiver Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) established to support Northbridge associates and provide aid during a short-term crisis. During every community visit we will be raising funds and awareness of our Compassionate Caregiver Fund, if you would like to donate to support those who do so much to support our residents, follow this link: https://lnkd.in/eSTNm5ZE We invite you to support this amazing initiative in any way you can. We were successful in receiving a $25,000 challenge grant. This means that this generous donor will match every dollar raised over the next week up to $25,000! The first stop in our Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive was at Granite Hill Estates in Hallowell, Maine. In addition to celebrating the amazing associates and residents at the community, they celebrated National Blueberry Day with a party full of all things blueberry- drinks, foods and décor! We are excited to make this a special experience and a great fundraising opportunity for an amazing cause. Please share and repost so we can get this message out to everyone who has supported Jim, Wendy and Northbridge throughout their incredible journey. Be sure to check back over the next few weeks for updates on our Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive!

Seniors to Seniors: a wonderful program that's more like a friendship between Avita of Needham and St. Sebastian's School. This group of seniors have touched the lives of our memory care residents and their families. We look forward to continuing this intergenerational program for years to come!
Northbridge’s Seniors to Seniors program is thriving due to the dedication of the amazing team at Avita of Needham. This week we celebrated our partnership with the St. Sebastian's School. These dedicated seniors from St Sebs were truly a gift to the residents we serve. Thank you John Eaton, Lynne McDonough and Jazz CVitan, CDP, CADDCT for your continued commitment to this valuable program.

At Northbridge we know we're surrounded by incredible talent, so it's wonderful to see that talent recognized! Join us in congratulating Brenda Gellar in her Lifetime Achievement Award from Plymouth Center for Active Living - your impact to the greater community is significant; we are lucky to have you as part of our team. Go Brenda! 🎉 🎖
I am incredibly honored to have received this award from the Plymouth CAL. Helping seniors has been my passion beginning with the day I started as a "candy striper" in the 6th grade. They bring me joy and I learn something from them every day.
