The variety helped me enjoy the runs more and I look forward to them. Fueling my body through nutrition and more sleep also helped me remain focused. Focus: Training is more mental since you often find yourself running alone. You can push yourself farther than you think once you shift to a positive mindset and incorporate affirmations! 🎽 Ellie’s tips for training! Routine: Lots of water, nutritional fueling, 7 – 8 hours of sleep, stretching, prioritizing recovery, 3-4 shorter runs on the weekdays, and 1 long run on the weekend. It’s important to plan it out so you’re prepared. Focus: You can trick yourself into going farther than you think. Running as a sport, in general, is 75% mental, and 25% physical.
