According to an industry report by the Manufacturing Institute, by 2028, the U.S. alone could face a shortage of over 2.4 million skilled manufacturing workers. Several factors contribute to the widening gap between the skills required by modern manufacturing and the qualifications possessed by the workforce, including the retirement of experienced workers, lack of emphasis on vocational training in traditional educational curricula, misconceptions about manufacturing careers and the rapid evolution of technology, which renders existing skills obsolete.
