I review lots of pitch decks daily and see many include this famous slide. Try deleting it for a change - The Market growth slide. This morning, I was wondering if black tea is healthier than green tea. - I googled it and got, “Yes!” So, I enjoyed my black tea. - Stupid green tea just sitting in the corner 😃 - But you know, if I had Googled “is green tea healthier?”, I’d have gotten, “Yes!” So, when I see online that an industry is growing by 12%, I don’t believe it. Instead, showcase the mergers and acquisitions that actually happened to similar products. The answer to, “Will I probably get a good ROI?” is not… → ❌ “The market is growing,” but... → ✅ “Our competitor just got sold for $40BILLION.” I believe that the market growth slide should be burned and never used again.
