🔍🏥 Healthcare spending is higher in households where Medicare covers all members, a KFF issue brief found. Around 66 million adults receive health insurance coverage through Medicare, including 59 million people over 65 and 7 million adults under 65 with disabilities. Coverage costs for Medicare beneficiaries include monthly premiums, deductibles, and other cost-sharing requirements. Traditional Medicare does not have an out-of-pocket spending limit, and beneficiaries often must pay out of pocket for services not covered in Medicare, such as dental, hearing, and vision care. #HealthcareCosts #Medicare #StudyFindings #HealthcareSpending #HealthcareBudget #MedicalResearch #HealthcareInsights #HealthcareTrends #MedicareHouseholds #HealthcareStudy #HealthcareData #HealthcareEconomics #HealthcareFinance #HealthcareAnalysis 📊📈

I am often asked why Healthcare, and thus Health Insurance, has become so expensive. The consolidation of hospitals allows them to dictate prices, leading to exorbitant charges. The government's involvement, particularly through Medicare and Medicaid, contributes to the financial struggles of hospitals. Lack of price transparency and accountability in the healthcare system, along with the burden placed on working-class individuals, is a major issue. We are on the cusp of more price transparency for hospitals. We need tough conversations and everyone to do their part to address these problems and prevent future generations from bearing the cost of healthcare. #healthcareinnovation #healthcarecosts #transparency #employerbuiltbenefits
