I completed the Acoustic Blue Team Lab at CyberDefenders, This lab takes you into the world of voice communications over the internet using SIP and RTP protocols. The lab involved analyzing a "log.txt" from an undisclosed passive honeypot and a "Voip-trace.pcap" file for network analysis in the VOIP context. During my investigation, I uncovered various details such as the use of TCP protocol, scanning tools from the same suite, victim User-Agent, tool-targeted specific extensions (100,101,102,103,111), extensions not requiring authentication, a total of scanned extensions, identification of a real SIP client, a dialed 11-digit number, default credentials for basic authentication, the codec used for RTP streams, sampling time, and discovering a password associated with username 555. Additionally, I learned about the VOIP protocols SIP and RTP, as well as codecs that compress and decompress audio or video data, sampling time, and other related concepts.
