The Gaming industry has always been on fire. The more i read back stories the more it converges to one common word "Gaming"... From Nvidia to Slack, the gaming industry's influence on technology and business strategy has paved the way for billion-dollar companies... Few insights that will blow your mind: 1. Distribution strategies from gaming influenced Microsoft: Microsoft leveraged lessons from the gaming industry to bypass traditional retail distribution, directly installing its software on PCs, thus gaining a significant competitive advantage. 2. Network Effects decides the winner even if lowering fees: Even with a lower take rate, platforms like Epic Games Store struggle to compete against established giants like Steam due to network effects. 3. Exclusive content for captive audience drives platform adoption: Valve’s strategy of exclusive games for Steam was a pivotal move that helped establish its long-term dominance. But it’s not until you understand some anecdotes that you realize how gaming innovations has been the root for majority of big tech companies: - 1. Nvidia: Started by creating graphics chips primarily for video games, now pivotal in various tech applications from AI to automotive. 2. Slack: Originated as a tool within a gaming company before becoming a leading communications platform. 3. Apple’s App Store fee model: The 30% fee that Apple charges developers has its origins in the gaming industry, specifically agreements from the 1980s between companies like Nintendo and game developers. If the above wasn’t impressive enough, the gaming is evolving faster with AI tools. To give you a sense of how big that is, just compare the usage --> AI for gaming and creators. or --> AI for business. - My guess? Gaming is going to eventually set more benchmarks the same way it has set earlier for Microsoft and Apple. And probably, one of the sophisticated AI tool for animation and video building comes from the solutions building for Gaming use-cases. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments.

𝗚-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁: 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀. NVIDIA has unveiled a new AI feature called 𝗚-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁, a 𝗚𝗲𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗯𝗼𝘁 that aims to assist gamers with in-game tips and system optimization. 𝗚-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 can provide contextual information within games, such as guiding players on crafting items or locating resources. Additionally, it can analyze the user's system and recommend optimal settings, like increasing the refresh rate for a smoother gaming experience. G-Assist is currently a demonstration, but NVIDIA is actively engaging developers interested in integrating this AI assistant into their games. 👉 Follow the link to know more: https://lnkd.in/ddcZzekd 🐾 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 We have nothing to add except that it's a great idea to adopt for mobile gaming as well. Researchers from Cornell University and Xbox teamed up with Microsoft Research to improve predictive models for personalized gaming recommendations. They enlisted 5,174 gamers from around the world to label massive datasets of gaming titles, allowing for cultural, translational, and linguistic analysis. Two predictive models were created, one based on global survey data and the other on US gamers exclusively. The first model improved prediction by 8% for gamers worldwide. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫! 🧙 In the past decade, many brands have entered gaming with varying success, such as Gucci in Roblox or IKEA in The Sims. But brand integration often feels forced. Non-Player Characters (NPCs) could offer a fresh approach to in-game marketing. 🐉 Imagine a warlock offering you a Monster energy drink with a joke, "Hey there, adventurer! Why did the orc bring a ladder to the dungeon? Because he heard the loot was on the next level! Speaking of levelling up, have you tried the new ‘Monster Fire Punch’ flavour'?” Well, that future may not be too far off… 🧝 This year at CES, Nvidia and Convai showcased their AI-driven conversation system for video game NPCs, allowing players to engage with NPCs in natural voice interactions. The system's structure, allowing real-time data injection, hints at a promising future for customizable in-game dialogues. ⚔️ While the system is currently limited, the integration of biosensors and purchasing behaviour data could transform in-game targeted ads. NPCs could answer player questions mid-play with specific brand names for sponsored products, offering branded skins, game items, and more! Do you see AI-driven video game conversations as a valuable enhancement or a potential challenge? #videogames #digitalmarketing #CES #AI #innovation 👍 If you like this content, please subscribe to the Future of Marketing Newsletter for in-depth analysis and new ideas: https://lnkd.in/gG7u2a6X
