Did you miss our demo during SEMICON Europe in November 2023? No worries, we’ve got you covered. We’re excited to share a video of our demonstrator which is based on the Agil’Controller template software built on top of our A²ECF-SEMI equipment controller framework. This isn’t just any software - it’s connected with a real robot from isel Germany, showcasing the practical applications of our product. One of the unique features of our software is the equipment model which enables partial device simulation. In this case, Load Ports and Process Modules are simulated. A key benefit is to decouple the hardware from the software, enabling validation of the software even if the hardware is not available. It also allows developers to work in parallel, validating the software without requiring a set of hardware components for each developer. Our demonstrator is also connected with Speech Scenario, our Host (aka MES or EAP) emulator for #SECSGEM and #GEM300 connectivity. This allows us to exercise the SECS/GEM API of the tool as if it would be in a real fab. This is crucial for conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) before delivering the tool and also to validate software updates. We control a variety of semiconductor specific robots, including dual arm robots and six other robot brands in addition to Isel. The modular architecture makes it easy to add a new one. This diversity allows us to help our customers quickly move from a lab tool with only a process module to a fab tool with complete automation (wafer loading and SECS/GEM connectivity). Fun Fact Thursday Over the past few days at Defence iQ conference there has been a lot of discussions around qualification and ramp up to serial production for additive. Something that has deep synergies to our AM adoption story at Siemens Energy & Materials Solutions - a Siemens Energy Business. Starting in 2006 it took us the best part of 10 years achieve our first part number in to serial production (approx 200 units annually). It then took us the next 8 to get to 150 qualified individual part numbers for production. Our current annual throughput is in excess of 15,000 parts. For context, the average size of components is ø125mm x 250mm tall Now-a-days this time line can be condensed with the improvement of technology and openness to adoption of AM.
