Property programmes could be a future addition to group captives that are consulted on by Captive Resources, LLC, according to CEO Nicholas J Hentges. Speaking on the latest episode of the Global Captive Podcast, Nick and Richard discussed the group captive experts' latest growth figures, future projections and the new areas Captive Resources is exploring. “I make no promises, but we are definitely going to look at property and see if there are opportunities or a niche that we can fill," Nick said. “It is tough and pricing has gone up dramatically, but it’s now to a point where the pricing probably makes sense. And if we jump in and can find the right niche, we think it could be a valuable add to the marketplace.” Listen to the full interview Nick on GCP at the below platforms or on any podcast app: Captive Intelligence: https://lnkd.in/dmeP5KkH Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/dNTbnsKE Spotify: https://lnkd.in/dWRATZTB #captiveinsurance #captiveintelligence #groupcaptives #globalcaptivepodcast https://lnkd.in/df7yJi9F

Four of the 22 new captives formed this year in Vermont have been from the real estate sector, with Vermont Captive's Jim DeVoe-Talluto saying they were “really in response to the challenging property market”. “We’re definitely seeing that the hard market is a significant driver, particularly in these property placements in high risk regions,” he told Richard on GCP #90, recorded at the VCIA conference last. “The problems extend to pricing and availability. We’re seeing enquiries about ground up coverage, which is an interesting space, because you’re looking at pretty significant capital requirements, but companies are willing to make that commitment because they know that the market is just very, very challenging."
