Next big step in the collaboration between the AOK-Bundesverband and T-Systems: T-Systems receives the contract to provide and manage secure digital identities (GesundheitsID) for the 27 million AOK insured persons. In future, the GesundheitsID will be the key to all digital services offered by AOK - from the electronic patient file (#ePA) to the e-prescription and the services of the online office “Meine AOK”. Dr. Carola Reimann, Chairwoman of the Board of the AOK-Bundesverband, emphasizes: „ The technical solution from T-Systems guarantees a high level of protection and meets the strict security requirements of the gematik digital agency. This means that our policyholders can rest assured that their sensitive health and social data is protected in the best possible way against unauthorized access. On the other hand, accessing AOK's digital services via smartphone will be much more convenient in future. All of the health insurer's digital applications can be used with a single key.” Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, CEO of T-Systems and member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG, says: „Secure digital identities are the key to digital solutions in the healthcare sector. E-prescriptions and patient files are the first good examples. In the future, our digital identity will be available to 50 percent of all people with statutory health insurance through AOK and another health insurance company. The technology can also make citizen services, banking transactions and travel easier and more secure, for example. It confirms that someone really is the person they claim to be when they log in. Logging in without passwords - simple and secure.“ Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eKmErUy5 Deutsche Telekom #TSystems #GesundheitsID gematik GmbH #gematik

Great news! Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems International digital identity has been approved by gematik for the healthcare sector, making it the first digital identity approved for the healthcare industry in Germany. Patients demand control over their own data. Starting in 2024, the 8.7 million policy-holders of BARMER can use our digital identity to get secure and easy access to healthcare applications on their digital devices. There is no denying that technology is key to the digitalization of healthcare as a whole and digital identity is a foundation of that. Simultaneously, this also means that the highly sensitive data must be protected even better. That’s why all data is encrypted on a secure and sovereign T-Systems cloud in Germany. All customers in the healthcare and public sector benefit from this particularly high level of security. We are proud to be leading the way in the digitalization of the healthcare sector in Germany. But not only healthcare, almost every area of life will benefit from digital identities in the future. Let's be clear on this.. The technology Cigna used to deny claims (PXDX) isn't the problem, it's the people at Cigna who set it up and used it to do harm that are the issue. We will see more and more of this, and we need to be smart enough to understand what the problem is... It's not the tech, it's the people setting it up and using it. https://lnkd.in/gS6e47Hd

#HealthEC LLC, a provider of #health #management solutions, suffered a #data #breach that impacts close to #4.5M individuals who received care through one of the company's customers. HealthEC provides a population health management #PHM platform that healthcare organizations can use for #data #integration, #analytics, care coordination, patient engagement, compliance, and reporting. On December 22, the firm disclosed that it suffered a data breach between July 14 and 23, 2023, which resulted in unauthorized access to some of its systems. "In general, individuals should #remain #vigilant against incidents of #identity #theft and #fraud by reviewing account statements, explanation of benefits statements, and monitoring free credit reports for suspicious activity and to detect errors," reads HealthEC's notification. The company recommends that #suspicious #activity should be promptly reported to relevant parties including an insurance company, health care provider, and/or financial institution." At the time of the cyberattack, HealthEC didn't specify how many people were impacted by the intrusion, but a submission to Maine's Attorney General's office that concerned just one of the firm's clients, MD Valuecare, set the number of affected persons to 112,005. A new listing that appeared earlier today on the breach portal of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows the larger picture, informing that the total number of affected individuals is 4,452,782. @laninfotech @glenbenjamin #laninfotech #becybersmart #becyberfit #besafe LAN Infotech, LLC

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲? In 2024, reimbursement rates are down, making it tough for providers to cover costs. Complex billing processes drive up admin costs and errors. It’s like trying to herd cats chaotic and never quite successful. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲-𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲? Patients can’t pay their bills, leading to more write-offs and bad debt. Glad to see that Digital Healthcare Radar got some attention. The core idea of Radars is brutally simple – just looking around to see, what people are doing. It originally came from our clients saying “we need an app” or “they have a fantastic app”, but then… what does this actually mean? And get me right, an app is never just a set of features and one’s customer journey is never just an app, not everyone needs an app – we are yet to find how to show this complexity properly in the reports. Still, it is not clear what market offers on the basic level of features. So, we’ve tried to bring a bit of clarity to that. That is why we opted for the “radar” format and usually show layers - what are the “must have” features, what differentiates an app from competitors and things in between. Just to see, what is a common practice, and what is new or unique. And sometimes I secretly “cheer” for a feature to move from differentiators to delighters – this means that it got its recognition. For Healthcare we purposefully dropped this classification, because little is “standard” in patient engagement. I also had a secret agenda. We all have our stereotypes of what country “leads” the industry, but it does not always reflect the actual spots of innovations. So, I put a lot of effort to make the reports truly international, when it is possible. And my little dream is that people will send us interesting features that they see, all over the globe. Seriously, please do. We follow features for retail banking, wealth management, insurance and healthcare – you can always check what we have by googling Mobiquity + Radar + industry. And let us know your suggestions, where would you like us to look next?
