Today I'm posting the 1st of a serie of videos explaining the use of the #AppleVisionPro in medicine and the integration with our "#OneHealth" platform Surgeree, with particular attention to veterinary diagnostic imaging (of course 😉) , focusing on ultrasound 〰, sharing with you pros, cons and my opinion so far. PROS: 1. We can finally work in the light of the day 🌞: 4k quality images are directly transmitted wireless to your eyes with no lag, removing all the problems related to the US screen reflexes and screen-related grey scale variation. Why it is important? Think about performing FNA/core biopsies (a video will be posted soon about that) or people operating on the field (ex. wildlife US 🦁, large animal US 🐄 🐎 etc.) or how images can be different on the US screen versus when you watch them on your computer. 2. Working in standing position with straight back and neck 🚶♂️: long-term orthopaedic diseases to shoulders and back/neck are a well known and documented problem for ultrasonographers. Working with a correct back and neck position I think is a very good thing on the long term. 3. You can stream and/or record your hands, the patient and the US images at the same time: if you provide CE in ultrasound I don't think this need any further explanation. It's just amazing. 4. If someone else is performing the US with the Apple Vision Pro they can stream the evaluation to a radiologist LIVE: finally, "teleultrasonography" is real. Just one single device allow the user to show where the hands/US probe are, share the images, ask/take advices etc. The radiologist may provide indication on how to move hands, point things on the screen etc... 5. Sharing in few seconds: once you're done with the US, you can share the recorded clip through Airdrop to other people, the owner or save it on Surgeree for your next US presentation on the platform. 6. Performing the US and doing the report at the same time: we will post a video about that, but you can perform your ultrasound evaluation and do the report at the same time thanks to softwares such as #reporTbabel and the possibility to dictate through the Apple Vision Pro microphone. CONS: 1. The US keyboard interaction is still necessary. US is a dynamic evaluation and despite the Apple Vision Pro gives you the possibility to zoom or move the screen around, you still need to interact with your US keyboard to adjust the image. However, I have to say one of the botton I use most is actually the zoom, and that can be done just with the Apple Vision Pro. 2. Apple Vision Pro has a single "owner". You can host people with your glasses, but they can't perform call through the existing applications. Once Surgeree will be live, you will be able to stream, record, upload, get payment, supervise, share your calendar (ex. "today at 15.00 I'm going to perform 3 US examinations of 3 different adrenal glands tumor, you can watch me live") everything on a single platform. Stay tuned for more videos!

Used something similar in cetacean medicine as we are outside in bright sun but are measuring. Communicating with an assistant or vet tech trained in ultrasound also helps as they can be who takes care of keyboard needs for image adjustments, saving, and measuring or trading goggles and having vet tech hold the probe while vet measures on screen (we still would put the machine with screen in a plastic tub sideways with a towel over to stick our heads in to protect machine from splashes and see better in the dark). The goggles were very helpful as they kept light out completely for best views we couldn’t get with tub/towel method alone. Happy to see technology like this improve and expand!

Can you speak to the weight and ergonomics of wearing the device?

Stunning. Can you share more about your experience?
