Today’s investors must deal with the new material world – where tightening regulations and reporting standards require market participants to demonstrate how they track, disclose and manage ESG issues. Our latest report by lead author Martin Vezér, PhD is on Navigating Material Climate Risks in the Global Equities Market. The report evaluates the alignment of companies listed on the Morningstar Global Large-Mid Cap Equities Index with their transition toward a low-carbon economy. 📊The analysis spans more than 3,300 public companies, representing 94% of the market capitalization of the index, providing a view of a broad cross-section of the market. 📉Among the covered entities, 19% are moderately misaligned to net zero, while 38%, 23% and 15% are significantly, highly and severely misaligned, respectively. 💸We note that physical climate risks vary widely, though companies in most sectors face related losses of between 1% and 5% of their operating cash flow. 🏆 On track for a record audience! Investors clearly care about the impact of #carbon pricing on companies. 👇 👇 Climate #transition risk is increasingly impacting financial assets and portfolios. However, recent stress tests by the ECB, Bank of England and most recently the Fed have found that such risks are not adequately understood. In this #webinar, SparkChange carbon market experts are joined by Marissa Santikarn, Director at Pollination, to discuss how carbon pricing is rapidly expanding globally, and what this means for corporates and the underlying financial assets. Register here: https://lnkd.in/ebY6d6ey Carbon pricing forces polluters to pay for their emissions – but so far regulatory initiatives were fragmented, and most emissions were not priced. This changes now as carbon pricing expands across three dimensions: ➡ Breadth: CBAM is activated in 20 months, and 14 new compliance carbon markets are under development, including large economies such as Japan, Brazil, Turkey or the second ETS in Europe ➡ Height: The global average carbon price is approaching its all-time high ➡ Depth: Companies receive less of their allowances for free as governments switch from free allocation to auctions The trinity of global carbon price expansion will affect revenues, costs, and margins across sectors. This SparkChange Webinar will help you answering the following questions ❓ How will the carbon price expansion unfold in the next 36 months? ❓ Why is the carbon footprint an inadequate proxy for carbon price exposure? ❓ How is evolving climate regulation affecting the carbon price risk of companies in different sectors? ❓ How can you identify embedded carbon price risk across a range of regulatory scenarios? ❓ How can you profit from the divergence between granular and forward-looking carbon price risk indicators, traditional ESG metrics and analyst consensus? Register your slot today, we approach our seat limit! https://lnkd.in/ebY6d6ey

New NeuGroup Peer Research, sponsored by Sustainable Fitch and National Association of Securities Professionals, shows that DEI firms enjoy support among corporates, with 66% of treasuries using diverse-owned firms in their capital markets deals—but the firms may face headwinds in the current ESG climate. That is one takeaway from a survey we conducted in late 2023 about members' use of diverse-owned firms in the capital markets. The full report, which dives deeper into the survey, will be published in the coming weeks. #NeuGroupCelebratesBHM https://lnkd.in/eMtCmbTe
