The main goal of the CPS4EU project was to jointly reduce complexity, technical risks, time-to-market and development costs for the design and development of new complex cyber-physical systems, which have applications in domains as diverse as #smartcities, #mobility, #industry, #energy, #aerospace, #health, consumer #electronics, logistics and agri-food. How have they achieved this? Philippe Gougeon of Valeo and Etienne Hamelin of CEA outline the results in this article that we're pleased to have helped edit for the latest Inside Industry Association Magazine.

🔋Expected to extend battery service time by pulsed charging. The collaborative research led by Dr. Philipp Adelhelm (HZB and Humboldt University) involving teams from Technical University of Berlin, and Aalborg University in Denmark, challenges the conventional wisdom of charging batteries with a constant current flow. Pulsed current charging can reduce structural degradation and improve uniform distribution of Lithium ions. It highlights a breakthrough in battery technology that could significantly extend the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries, a critical advancement for electric vehicles and electronic devices. This study not only deepens our understanding of battery health but also points towards a clearer direction of development for battery test. source: https://lnkd.in/g_r8JqiF #batterytechnology #Lithiumbattery #Batterycycler #LIB

#Review Carbon Nanotube (CNT)-Based Biosensors by David C. Ferrier and Kevin C. Honeychurch https://lnkd.in/ePRkGPxF MDPI University of the West of England #CNTbasedbiosensors #bioanalyticalapplications #surfacefunctionalization #electrochemicalbiosensing #analyticalnanodevices #openaccess #Abstract This review focuses on recent advances in the application of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for the development of sensors and biosensors. The paper discusses various configurations of these devices, including their integration in analytical devices. Carbon nanotube-based sensors have been developed for a broad range of applications including electrochemical sensors for food safety, optical sensors for heavy metal detection, and field-effect devices for virus detection. However, as yet there are only a few examples of carbon nanotube-based sensors that have reached the marketplace. Challenges still hamper the real-world application of carbon nanotube-based sensors, primarily, the integration of carbon nanotube sensing elements into analytical devices and fabrication on an industrial scale.

fast, faster, THz... We go straight ahead bringing electroniX and photonicX in research together.. Last Tuesday, November, 28th, 2023 new insights in integrated THz-Technology were presented by different German and UK research groups. We are looking forward to the next steps in research but also hopefully in application platforms for: - Health monitoring - Gas detection and spectroscopy - Data Communications - Signal Processing - Novel materials for faster switching devices and circuits There is a lot to advance… Germany and UK are going ahead in THz-Technology …. … in the #ITG in the #VDE we are following carefully this dynamic development … What about applying these research results into technology for exhaust gas spectroscopy in vehicles and wireless sensors for car-to-car communication with high data rate transmission? We at the #ITG are open for discussions…. https://lnkd.in/eZqmJvbC
