Meta has released Llama 3 (backed by a $10 billion investment) and is available to public for FREE 😲 . What could be the business strategy behind it 🤔 ? It could probably: 1. Position Meta as a leader in open source. 2. Create potential hurdles for smaller AI developers. 3. Make it harder for companies like OpenAI to charge a premium. 4. Drive adoption of its platforms by integrating with Instagram, Whatsapp, and Facebook (be ready for lots of Adsssss and suggestionssss….) It’s worth remembering the old wisdom: If the product is free, you might be the product! 🙄 #Meta #Llama3 #AI #OpenSource #BusinessStrategy #TechnologyNews

The Meta AI bot is really confused at this point. I was testing Meta's 'Ask Meta AI' bot on the Facebook platform yesterday. It has been trained on datasets prior to December 2022 and it mentioned that it doesn't have internet access. Still it provided answers with near real-time data and later apologized for providing the answer. Here's why this is concerning- 1) Reduces the credibility of the data sources being leveraged by the model and exposure to private data. For sure doesn't go with the campaign launched by Meta to tackle misinformation. 2) Seasoned professionals might easily jail-break the model to get unintended responses. 3) These AI bots will soon be integrated with Whatsapp & Instagram. Better to solve the issue before scaling it to this level. AI at Meta #meta #llms #hallucinations #data

OpenAI shakeup: Potential benefits for Meta platform #AIrevolution 🤝 Follow us on Discord 🔜: https://lnkd.in/gt823Zd3 🤝 Follow us on Whatsapp 🔜 https://wapia.in/wabeta _ ❇️ Summary: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke at the Meta Connect event in Menlo Park, California. The drama surrounding Sam Altman's departure and return to OpenAI could benefit Meta and Zuckerberg. Microsoft and its CEO Satya Nadella have been seen as winners in the situation, but Meta could also benefit from the corporate circus. The OpenAI fiasco has led to concerns about relying on a single company's large language model, and Meta's open-source Llama AI initiatives could benefit from this. There are also potential business opportunities for Meta if companies seek multiple AI vendors. Hashtags: #chatGPT 1. #MetaOpenAI 2. #AIshakeup

Can’t trust what you see online anymore? Meta has announced an update to its AI-generated content policy, stating that beginning in May, a "Made with AI" label will be added to AI-generated video, audio, and image content on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. 🤖 Starting in July, Meta will also adjust its moderation of AI-generated content, opting to add context and labels rather than removing content that doesn't violate other community standards. This approach stems from recommendations by Meta’s Oversight Board and aims to provide users with more transparency around AI-generated content, without stifling the creativity and innovation that AI brings to content creation. This is amazing news for the future of responsible AI use. 👍 #North #Birmingham #ArtificialIntelligence #Meta #AITools #AIArt #DeepFakes

This Monday I was ready to catch up on the latest news and updates in the innovation and tech community. There's a lot of buzz about Meta AI and its capabilities, I immediately noticed the topic trending on LinkedIn. I decided to listen to a podcast featuring Mark Zuckerberg, who shared an interesting story during the interview. So, I knew I had to share it with you: They found themselves in a tricky situation where they needed more GPUs to train models for Reels on IG, as he explained. Feeling constrained by their current setup and wanting to catch up to competitors like TikTok, they decided to invest heavily in GPUs to ensure they wouldn't face similar limitations in the future. This was during a period of stock price concerns, and the anticipated use for was solely for Reels. What he didn't realize was that this move also positioned them very well for the AI field. Which now makes Meta AI a serious competitor for other AI platforms like OpenAI. The lesson here is about learning from mistakes. Even CEOs make them, but what's important is bouncing back or even gaining from them. So, don't beat yourself up over past decisions. Learn, improve, and move forward. P.S. Have you tried MetaAI yet and what are your thought on these technology improvements?

Meta plans to launch AI-powered chatbots with different personalities! This is Mark Zuckerberg's new plan to revive his social media platforms. Some of these chatbots, called "personas," take the form of different characters, like emulating Abraham Lincoln or providing travel advice in the style of a surfer. The launch is expected in September, and will serve as a new search function, offer recommendations, and provide an entertaining product for users to interact with. Chatbots could collect significant amounts of data on users' interests, allowing Meta to better target them with relevant content and advertisements. (🤔 Super safe, right?) #ai #meta

Meta Platforms (META.O), the parent company of Facebook, is set to unveil a lineup of AI-powered chatbots with distinct personalities as early as September, according to the Financial Times. These chatbots, capable of human-like conversations, aim to boost user engagement across Meta's social media platforms. From a chatbot speaking like Abraham Lincoln to another offering travel advice in a surfer style, they will introduce a new search function and provide tailored recommendations. With a focus on AI technology, Meta aims to retain users on its new app Threads, which experienced a decline in users after its launch. The company's recent forecast of third-quarter revenue surpassing market expectations showcases its positive performance amid an AI-driven resurgence. #ai #artificialintelligence #metaplatforms #aichatbots #techinnovation #socialmediaengagement #userexperience #abrahamlincoln #surfer #technews #artificialintelligence #userretention #threadsapp #digitaltransformation #socialmediaplatforms #techtrends #aiadvancements #personalization #techrevolution #techupdates #chatbot #innovations #technology #futuretech #businessgrowth #success #growth #future #change #digitaltransformation #technology #automation #revolution #industrytransformation #softwaresolutions #software #softwarecompany #colombo #bluechiptechasia #bluechipaiasia #APAC #asia #hongkong #singapore #usa #uk #SriLanka https://lnkd.in/gHmVufTf

ChatGPT reached 10 million users in 40 days. 🚀 While, Meta AI rapidly achieved a user base of 2 to 3 billion users as soon as they introduced it, by just integrating its Llama 3-powered AI name Meta AI into Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram. 😎 Now, This is quite a smooth and highly sought-after move. Showcasing the company’s Competitive Advantage in utilizing its existing user base to maximize reach and impact. 🌐 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭: When Google's parent company, Alphabet, first launched Bard (now called Gemini), its stock dropped by around 9%. In contrast, Meta's stock is up 1.60% today. 📈 AI isn't the core competence/race of Meta, but they seem to be playing it much smoother than many who are trying to play religiously but still suffering greatly. 💪 #MetaAI #llama3

Meta, is preparing to launch AI-powered chatbots with different personalities to engage users. The chatbots, nicknamed "personas," will take the form of characters like Abraham Lincoln or a surfer giving travel advice. The purpose of the chatbots is to offer a new search function, provide recommendations, and be a fun product for users to play with. Facebook owner Meta aims to retain users and compete with rivals like TikTok and OpenAI. Chatbots can also collect vast amounts of user data, which may raise privacy and manipulation concerns.Rival tech groups like Character.ai and Snap have already launched chatbots with famous personalities. Mark Zuckerberg envisions AI agents that act as assistants, coaches, and help interact with businesses and creators. What Abraham Lincoln would say about this AI-powered chatbot venture: "I must confess, I find it rather humorous that in this age of technology, I, the great Abraham Lincoln, am being recreated as a chatbot. But hey, I suppose it's better than being stuck on a penny!" :) Now, go forth and engage, my fellow netizens! I am personally a big fan of the legendary Lincoln and deeply admire his legacy and the remarkable work he accomplished during his time as the President of the United States. #AIRevolution #AIEthics #AIInnovation:

Meta is (of course unsurprisingly) spending millions for the AI personalities it's launching (https://lnkd.in/dTCNRb-X) Personally I'm more interested in the range and scope of these "personalities" and that soon enough users will be able to create their own "AIs": not just for entertainment, but also education, companionship, general purpose assistance .... and not just focused on one sector but across art, sport, mental health etc Sure in the first instance this could be interesting for increasing user engagement and opportunities to serve ads... or... this is a way for Meta to expand its reach and relevance across industries with which historically it did not overlap?

2moAnother (philosophical) angle would be to seek karmic balance!! On one hand, their use of private data has been profitable but controversial. On the other, by open-sourcing advanced AI models, they could be seen as offering a valuable resource to the community, which might serve as a form of atonement - Image Makeover!! 😀
