Navigating the dynamic realm of software development, where challenges often mirror opportunities, I firmly believe in the power of effective time management. As an unwavering developer, I've come to understand that the number of tasks assigned by the Product Manager shouldn't dictate our success, but rather our ability to orchestrate and prioritize them. Embracing each task as a chance to enhance my skills, I've honed a proficiency in not only meeting deadlines but also fostering innovation. Through calculated time allocation and strategic planning, I remain dedicated to not just completing tasks, but surpassing expectations and crafting exceptional solutions. Because in the ever-evolving landscape of technology, our prowess lies not just in the code we write, but in the mastery of time we exhibit.

Very valid point on the strategic perspective of privatising the electricity board. Are we sacrificing a strategic advantage of the country in privatisation? Is privatisation the only way to avoid corruption? How will this move help (If at all) the business community? I am a strong advocate in privatisation, but when privatising a monopoly, we may be shooting ourself in the foot.

14th December 2023 HE @Ranil Wickremesinghe Office of the President Presidential Secretariat Colombo 1 Sri Lanka Subject: Urgent Consideration of Economic Policies for National Development Dear President HE @Ranil Wickramasinghe and Prime Minister HE Dinesh Gunawardena, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of great importance regarding the economic development of our country. Recently, I came across a video on LinkedIn featuring a discussion on Channel TV1 in Sri Lanka. The panel emphasized the significance of not privatizing government entities without guarantees of healthy competition and refraining from selling national assets to foreign entities that may lack a sense of responsibility. In addition to these concerns, I would like to draw your attention to the insights shared by Mr. Chathuranga Abeysinghe ACMA,CGMA, a Data Analyst. He highlighted a development path followed by successful nations such as India, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, and Indonesia. The key components of this path include: National Production and Services Plan Strong State Investment in Education and R&D State Development Banks to Fund SMEs Selective FDIs for Technology, Capital, and Market Access State-Owned Enterprises for Essential Goods and Industrial Inputs (Energy, Tech, Transport, Capital) Strong SME Sector Protection These strategic initiatives, which were also employed by developed nations like the US and the UK, challenge the current narrative that underdeveloped nations should avoid similar practices. It is crucial to note that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) often advocates for neoliberalism, and any country seeking economic advancement should balance its developmental plans with interim support from the IMF. I believe that adopting a comprehensive National Development Plan aligned with the principles outlined by Mr. Abeysinghe could significantly contribute to the progress of our nation. I respectfully urge you to consider these insights and collaborate with experts to formulate policies that prioritize the long-term growth and sustainability of Sri Lanka. As a concerned citizen, I am hopeful that our great nation will continue to thrive under your leadership. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, N. Ravi

I am a strong advocate of private enterprise as the sole engine of economic growth and prosperity, until I came across with this profound counter argument. 🙏 This is a great lesson for all of us that, you don't have to always buy this ideology of "you have to be either in the left or in the right wing" in the left-right spectrum of political and economic ideologies. There's good in the right, there's bad in it. There's bad in the left, and then there's good in it too. Making profits and accumulating wealth is good thing. But, planning a national economy has to be more strategic than planning a one business entity alone. 🙏

The reason for us to now think about privatization is because we were pushed against the wall by our failing economy. We are now mindlessly trying to privatize everything and re-build our dollar reserves. Strategy is not even part of the current trajectory. It's all about surviving. This video speaks on how SL is missing out on what's happening in the bigger picture. But the question is, are we really not seeing it or are we just out of time and resources to fuel a strategic decision ?
