I seem to have built a bit of a cult following on Facebook, and I'm not sure what to do about it (if anything). When I started my Facebook page a good number of years ago, I fought to get 100 follows, as it unlocked options. Since then, I've not really bothered about it. Yes, I rehash the LinkedIn business content on Facebook, but get very little interaction on my posts. Zero paid jobs, and a handful of tire kickers in over 10 years. However, the 100 followers is now sitting at 2700. Mostly people in far away lands who will never be a client. So, do I just continue posting stuff as before, or do I utilise this in some way? Considering the fact that it's likely Excel enthusiasts rather than potential clients, I'm not sure what I could even do. Also, I suspect many don't even speak English, so that's another hurdle. So, last night, I realized how all over the place the #TikTok algorithm has become... As I was scrolling, I continued to get these types of content: ๐ "IF I DO this with my hair, then that means I like my co-host; come join my live right now!" ๐ฑ "OMG, yall.. I bought the TikTok Cologne, and I am obsessed!!" ๐ญ "I have applied for 1,000s of jobs" ๐ฉ "I made a 75-page presentation, got invited to happy hour with a company to find out I didn't get the job." ๐ท "The job market is tough" All of this was on repeat, continuously delivering to me!! But I learned some good nuggets from those currently looking for work, which made me feel even worse about the current #jobmarket. The biggest piece of advice that I can offer to those who are #opentowork and #hiring is to not underestimate the value of reaching out to connect on LinkedIn. Don't be afraid to get rejected by those who are hiring and receive too many messages. Instead, put in the effort to get introductions and actually meet with people who can advocate for you. #letsconnect #jobmarketplace #laidoff #helpingothers

I took a 6 month break from TikTok... ๐ต๐ต๐ต As much as I love creating on TikTok because I get to share my #passion for #recruiting in a way that resonates with me the most, humor, I won't lie... the negativity that brews in the TikTok comments section really got to me. ๐ Constantly being told my job is useless, that I only care about commission checks (which I don't even receive), and that I have no backbone made me give up on something I love, right as I was heating up!
