Today's Startup of the Day is Footprint, helmed by Eli Wachs 👣. Eli saw the current system as inefficient. There were disparate KYCs each time a service created an account or individual company vaulting. This made it difficult to solve real issues of fraud. Footprint is an onboarding platform targeting IDV, security, fraud, and auth in five lines of code. With Footprint, companies can frictionlessly onboard users while offloading the security risk of storing their data. See the listing: https://startupof.com.

HackMyVm : Darkside Difficulty : Easy Multiple vulnerabilities were exploited to gain unauthorized access and escalate privileges. Weak credentials were first exploited, allowing initial access. Directory traversal revealed sensitive files, leading to further exploitation. Brute-forcing passwords and leveraging SUID permissions escalated privileges. The Nano text editor vulnerability, along with SUID misuse, facilitated root access. The attack exploited weak credentials, directory traversal, password brute-forcing, and vulnerabilities in SUID permissions and Nano text editor to compromise system security. #cybersecurity #ethicalhacking #penetrationtesting #hackmyvm #pentesting #vulnerability

Great news! Our portfolio company Binalyze has raised $19M in a Series A funding round led by Molten Ventures, and we’re delighted to reaffirm our long-term commitment to Binalyze. The round was joined by existing investors OpenOcean and Earlybird Venture Capital Digital East, and new strategic investors Cisco Investments, Citi Ventures and Deutsche Bank Ventures. Binalyze is a leading provider of cutting-edge Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DIFR) solutions. The company’s solution increases the agility of security teams in responding to cyber incidents with greater speed and accuracy. The trend at the heart of our thesis when we led Binalyze’s last round has only intensified: the rapid strategic shift of IT budgets from Prevention to Detection & Response. With 95 percent of cybersecurity breaches caused by human error, a truly automated end-to-end investigation platform, with multi-platform capabilities for teams to rapidly gather evidence, assess risk, and triage at scale, is what a modern enterprise needs. Binalyze plans to use this next phase of growth to amplify its worldwide growth and customer support. Congratulations, Emre Tinaztepe and the entire Binalyze team! #Cybersecurity #SeriesA
