In celebration of Black History Month, we’re spotlighting Subway Franchisee Robert Hawkins and the positive impact he has on his teams and community. “From an early age, I had many role models and mentors who saw potential in me, and I am forever grateful to those who helped me become a better person. I strive to do the same for my teams by showing care and compassion and helping them advance to management positions. Being part of the Subway brand has both empowered me to lead by example with my employees and get involved in the community. Since most of my seven Subway restaurants are near schools, we frequently partner with athletic departments, ensuring young athletes are fueled before their big events. During Black History Month, I also take the time to speak with youth in my hometown about my experiences and the deep significance this month holds for me. Black History Month is a time for our nation to reflect on our journey, acknowledge challenges and celebrate progress. By discussing, teaching, and honoring our history, we ensure it's not lost or forgotten. It's also an opportunity to remember the real-life heroes who made sacrifices for our nation.” Thank you, Robert, for sharing your story and being an exemplary example for the brand and the communities in which you live and work. Let’s all celebrate the achievements and history of African Americans during Black History Month! #Subway #BlackHistoryMonth
