enthusiast of projects with social and positive impact. I work with PEOPLE, sustainable marketing and projects that have the human being as the main piece.
How dare you don’t know Pippi Longstocking? That was the question that left me feeling like I’d missed the memo on some unwritten cultural checklist. As an immigrant from Brazil, my childhood was filled with the songs of Xuxa and the adventures of Monica's Gang, not the escapades of Pippi and her mismatched socks. I soon found myself in an ocean of comparisons, where knowing the latest German television personalities or something seemed to be the ultimate measure of integration.🛸 To me that sounds like being judge for not having PhD in Spongebob SquarePants studies. 🧽 😅 But jokes aside, this experience taught me a valuable lesson about the limitations of comparisons in our diverse multicultural world. 🌎 🎯 Success and worth cannot be neatly packaged into a checklist. Instead, they are found in the richness of our individual stories, the diversity of our perspectives, and the impact of our contributions. 🌌 In the end, our values and contributions should not be based on comparisons. Each member of our diverse team brings a unique background and perspective to the table, enriching our collective experience and broadening our opportunities for growth. 🚀 🛩️Coming to a new country takes courage—the courage to restart, to navigate new customs and languages, and to embrace the unfamiliar. So, let's celebrate the mosaic of cultures and experiences that make us who we are, and let's build an environment where everyone feels valued and accepted for their individuality.🎇 #divirsity #expects #inclusion

“Such interactions and people-to-people exchanges that span cultures and sectors not only help produce new human stories and experiences, but also help weave new ties of friendship connecting us to a shared future. 更多的故事就在“面对面”和“人与人”的交流中产生,跨国界和跨领域的交流不仅产生故事,还产生新的纽带,去联结未来。” Read Zijing Liu and Jiapei Fu’s account of the diverse backgrounds, cultural perspectives, and personal anecdotes that each delegate brought to this cross-cultural exchange aiming to build connections and mutual understanding. 💡 🌍 Stepping out of a centralized position in the world is as crucial as remembering your pants before leaving the house. After five years immersed in a multicultural environment, the past week gifted me a memorable first: during a virtual meeting, an American executive surprised us all by initiating his speech in Portuguese. This unexpected gesture immediately fostered a sense of connection and empathy, showcasing his understanding of the diverse landscape we operated in. It wasn't just about speaking the language; 🔺 it was about acknowledging and respecting the audience's native tongue, demonstrating a profound level of cultural awareness and inclusivity. 🔻 Knowing a second, if not a third, idiom is a must in today's work landscape. If you can't muster the empathy for it, well, you might as well prepare for a survival challenge in the wilds of the globalized market!

The One Picture Group are in the business of giving voice to the customer, the consumer, the audience – it is not simply a tick box exercise but recognition that understanding that someone’s lived experience, enriches your own and helps guide brands and businesses to more informed choices and strategies. Today we reflect on The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. In Aotearoa, only last year did we have the honour of celebrating the first Matariki public holiday, this was an incredible day for our country to acknowledge the importance of Māori indigenous culture. We acknowledge there is still work to be done on a global scale for those with indigenous backgrounds and culture, making this day incredibly important to reflect on where we have come from, and where we will go. It is about recognition, appreciation, feeling the spirit, and ultimately about moving towards true partnership. This day is more about celebrating the rich and diverse cultures the world has to offer, it poses an opportunity to embrace respect and mutual active participation in the commercial world too. The application of a purely western lens when gaining business insight is not only damaging for culture and communities, but it confines our thinking, giving a narrow and clouded view of what can be achieved. Looking through the lenses of intersectional lived experiences can enrich understandings of the world around us, our consumers, our environments, and our communities. It is more than asking an opinion, it is the opportunity of active participation across cultures, creating partnerships of respect, active listening, and action. Tuning into these voices can help us understand how to do better, it opens doors of opportunities to drive purposeful market research and meaningful strategies, allowing us to see the bigger picture.
