In 2010, I joined full time at Redefine and today after fifteen years we are over 100 plus strong team. One of the core responsibilities as a founder is to build team apart from business development. I've been at the forefront of hiring, and there's few trait that consistently stands out: one of this is candidates background in sports, particularly team sports, the other, I will share in my next post. Now, a background in sports isn't just a hunch; it's a strategic decision backed by compelling reasons: 1.            Champions at Heart: Sportspersons are wired to win. They bring this competitive spirit to the workplace, constantly striving for excellence and pushing boundaries. 2.            Resilience in Defeat: Sports teach valuable lessons in handling setbacks. "How do I bill more consistently?" Blank, Target, Achievers Lunch, Blank, Target, Achievers lunch - repeat. 😬 A pretty accurate representation of my 3rd year in recruitment. So when consultants ask me "how do I bill more consistently?" Trust me, I've been there. 🙌 These were some of my mistakes: 1. Being "too busy" to win new business ❌️ When I was filling roles, I would spend too much time focussing on this and completely "forget" about winning more work. Once I filled it, it was back to square 1. 2. Not being honest about the quality of my roles ❌️ I would spend WAY too long trying to fill roles with Unicorn candidates which I just couldn't find, I forgot to CONSULT with the client on what was achievable. 3. Not maximising the wins I had ❌️ I would rarely look at what additional opportunities or referrals (or cross-selling) I could get from my successes. So again, back to square 1. Once I reflected and was honest with myself, my consistency improved and so did my billings! So, the message - don't be like me, be better 😁 #Recruitment #recruitmenttraining #consistency

I loved watching the NFL before Taylor Swift came along. Why I am mentioning this? Within recruitment, companies and agencies receive fantastic applications from candidates that are actively searching for a new role, for very genuine reasons; however, tempting the passive candidate feels great! I was not actively looking to follow a new sport, I was very happy with football (soccer) but that did not mean that there was not this amazing opportunity out there that I was not aware of. That is what the NFL was to me and that is what I believe Quinyx could be for you!
