2024 2nd hackathon at Simply Wall St just finished! 🚀 Again, another impressive amount of ideas and fixes have been demoed today. Some of them made it to production already. Those that touch user experience will be enabled from next week. Some of these ideas will be discussed internally moving forward to whether they are aligned with current strategy and they get dedicated time and resources. But no hack is wasted. All hacks bring a different angle to solving our user problems, fixing existing internal processes and implementing improvements for our Developer Experience. And the most important part: seeing how everyone in the team is proactively contributing to build a better product for our users. Before every hackathon, we challenge ourselves about whether having 3 hackathons per year is too much (and we dedicate 3 days to each of those!). After hackathon demos, I have to say: worth every minute. Stay tuned as we will be sharing the hackathons as they land in the following weeks.

Our workflow at Hackathon 2023.  Discussing a task in IT is very important. When the 🤝 team discusses a task, everyone understands what needs to be done. This helps to avoid misunderstandings and mistakes. Everyone can contribute their point of view 🗣️ and help find the best way to solve the problem. Discussion also helps to distribute tasks among team members and set deadlines ⏰. When everyone understands their tasks and has a clear idea of the goal, work in information technology is more efficient and less likely to make mistakes. 🚀✨

We’ve facilitated hackathons with agency partners across the country and the day always starts with the same question. What is a hackathon?! Inspired by the tech-style hackathons, the hackathons hosted by SWIM are fast-paced work sessions where organizations brainstorm prototypes that help them implement a variety of Neighbor Centered practices. We kicked off a team hackathon on Thursday to end the quarter on a high note & rapidly experiment on some ideas. We split our already small but mighty team into two with a mission to design & build a feature in 48 hours. 😅 The rules: ✅ Uses AI ✅ Demoable ✅ Solves a real pain point ✅ Fun not stress We set out Thursday to imagine… ✨A way to automatically highlight parts of an AI generated summary on a transcript or data file, practically eliminating the friction to synthesis. ✨A way to generate a cover photo using the content of a research insight creating infinite possibilities to bring your research to life. Tomorrow at 9am PST / 12pm EST we’re demoing working versions both for our customers and users to choose a winner. Our engineers will speak to some of the technical challenges they had to overcome. I’m a big fan of hackathons like these because the future & what your team is capable of is always closer and more attainable than you think with a single focus. Even a tiny team can achieve big, hard things when day-to-day formalities, distractions, and constraints are eliminated. Aampe EOY'23 kicked-off yesterday with a labelling AI-assistant hackathon. What I love most about hackathons is their ability to create a common representation of a problem and a deeper understanding of its nuances. Group-hacking for half a day creates a much deeper understanding of a problem than a one hour presentation intended to communicate similar information. It takes more time from everyone now, that's true. But it saves so much time and so much frustration later. The misalignment generated by the different ways each team member understands presented information always comes back to bite. It's just amazing to watch how common understanding emerges as the team comes together to discuss during the post-hacking debrief.

A hackathon, but async? Yes! ✔️ Zero commute, cost-effective, convenient, and inclusive! Super Duper Hackathon article! I recently hosted a hackathon in my company, and the results are amazing! My team came together, spanning various departments from developers to marketers. From conceptualization to the final strokes, we navigated through every phase of dashboard creation. Witnessing the evolution of ideas into a tangible product was truly exhilarating. As a result we created several dashboards, each a unique blend of creativity and functionality. Last 10-15 days were really a roller coaster ride, there were few things accomplished and I am happy for what happened. 1. End Sem exams for the 7th semester concluded today. 2. The hackathon deadline was yesterday and we were able to submit the project. The project was not in complete form but the core functionalities were working. Things that I missed in between. 1. Missed ETHIndia IRL hackathon due to exams. 2. Would have met a ton of people and attended a lot of events if I was at BLR in the past weeks. Anyways, everything was good. Will continue working on other projects from now on. Built 'Disburse' that Streamlines fund transfers for hackathon winners, enabling them to effortlessly distribute funds to their teams in a single transaction.
