POP UP SHOPS Pop-ups are brilliant temporary activations EVERY centre should make room for, and not just when you can't find a permanent tenant - it should genuinely be part of the DNA of the centre. Pop-ups, at all levels, create a level of interest and an experience visitors can't necessarily get elsewhere. It's a reason for people to come to YOUR development over someone else's. It's also important to partner with the right operator for your pop-up, are they going to attract your target demographic? Is it a super short activation or for up to 6 months? The video below is from the Metallica 🤘 pop up shop in Munich this weekend, 3 days and queues all day every day! In fact the video only shows half the queue 👀 The band knows how to do it though, exclusive merchandise available each day only in store, guest appearances and competitions to keep everyone interested. It's a mammoth undertaking but the footfall and value to the area is there for all to see. Not to mention the ancillary spend and dwell time in Munich...you couldn't move for Metallica fans! The temp stores allow digital natives to test the brick-and-mortar waters, augment their customer engagement, amplify their brand, and increase ⬆️ their market presence.
