This book has revolutionized my way of working (I am a certified evolutionary transformational coach by Barrett) and it has revolutionized the lives of many people. If you want to create an organization fit for the future, it has to be a collective process based on the prerequisite according to Barrett: the leader has found his or her 3 core values and life purpose. Without living your values and purpose, you are by definition not a leader, but rather a manager. If you take a look at this model, you will see that the three upper levels on all 3 domains represent values necessary for the next stage of human consciousness. I am very happy to say that I have with great success coached, trained, and mentored many leaders globally. This is the fascinating outcome of using this model: that it does not matter where you live, based on core values and life purpose, we are all the same. Which we certainly need these days. What Laloux did not grasp, was that all the values and qualities of the 3 upper levels are all female. 😊

#Leadership24 There is an article circulating the social impact sector that highlights the challenges that hinder nonprofit leadership. The many of the points raised are valid, but I can’t say any of the information new or findings surprising: “We have observed a disconcerting pattern where Black women leaders are vacating their roles, with some leaving the non-profit sector altogether, citing hostility toward their leadership, strain on their health and well-being, unfair job expectations, and limited opportunities for career progression”. I am working to learn more about what is happening in the sector and understand how support can impact outcomes. Not all of my executive directors are Black women, but all are under stress, under resourced,and are feeling the pitch of a post pandemic world. If you are in the social impact, philanthropic, or non profit space, I encourage you to schedule virtual coffee with organizational leaders. Ask them how they are doing. Ask them what they need. I am starting this week with Dia L. Jones, Ed.D. Executive Director at the Philadelphia Robotics Coalition.
