Another step on the way to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. These small yet significant decisions all play their part to do what is necessary to protect our planet.
At AAT Kings we don't think more equals more. Which is why we're saying "enough" to "stuff". We've discovered that the brand merchandise we give away produces 6.5 million car-driven miles worth of carbon emissions every year. As a travel company with a goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, we knew we had to make a change. So, we're no longer purchasing branded merchandise to use as gifts. Instead, we'll start giving donations on behalf of our guests to projects that invest in all of our futures, including: 🌿 GreenWave's Kelp Climate Fund: Every donation will plant 40lbs of kelp which captures and stores carbon. 🌿 Rainforest Rescue Daintree Project: Every donation will protect 1 square metre of the world's oldest rainforest. We're kicking off our New Year's Resolutions early. We're saying no to "more stuff". We've discovered that the branded merchandise that we give away produces almost 6.5m car-driven miles worth of emissions every year. As a travel company with a goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, we knew we had to make a change. So, starting today, we're no longer purchasing branded merchandise to use as gifts. Instead, we'll start giving donations on your behalf to projects that invest in all of our futures, including: 🌿 GreenWave's Kelp Climate Fund: Every donation will plant 40lbs of kelp which captures and stores carbon. 🌿 Rainforest Rescue Daintree Project: Every donation will protect 1 square metre of the world's oldest rainforest. The best part is that by December 2024, we'll have removed a further 1.5m car-driven miles in carbon emissions purely through donations. Isn't it amazing what a little less stuff can do?

Liforme donates a minimum of 5% of our profits to give back to our community and Planet. Historically, we’ve gone beyond this on many occasions, because sometimes there are things we just can’t ignore or where we have felt we could do more. We advocate and act to protect our precious planet and its people. We work for environmental conservation, wildlife preservation, social justice, and equality for all beings, everywhere. With your help, we recently surpassed $800,000 in donations to charitable causes, including through our long-term, meaningful, official charity partnerships. To kick off our new partnership with CleanHub, and in honour of Earth Day, Liforme recently funded the collection of 10,000 kg of plastic. That’s roughly equivalent to one million (!) plastic bottles kept out of the sea thanks to CleanHub’s innovative approach to fighting ocean pollution on land. https://lnkd.in/eUNAH4ct

Transforming Surplus into Climate Solutions: This Earth Month, The Farmlink Project (https://lnkd.in/gp7KzjCD) is maximizing our climate impact for the entire month of April. We are thrilled to announce, 100% of every dollar donated through our website will go directly to rescuing potatoes. Donating $25 not only rescues 500 potatoes, but also generates a tangible positive climate impact by preventing 1,190 pounds of emissions—equivalent to an average car driving the entire length of the U.S. west coast." By redistributing fresh food into communities, we create a convenient climate positive option for farmers, and are able to eliminate environmentally harmful emissions. With each truckload, we respond to the global climate call to action to reduce methane emissions, and eradicate hunger in our lifetimes.

At Leaf Health, giving back is at our roots. That’s why we partnered with One Tree Planted earlier this year, a non-profit dedicated to global reforestation. We’re proud to say that, to date, our donation has funded the planting of 1,700 trees around the world (and counting). We look forward to seeing this partnership grow! Since 2014, One Tree Planted has planted over 92 million trees across more than 80 countries. Their goal is to make it easier for businesses and individuals to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity, and help reforestation efforts. 🔥 We're supporting One Tree Planted in its mission to restore lands that have been degraded by Forest Fires. As climate change continues to worsen, the world's forests are seeing more intense fires. These fires are increasing in both size and intensity every year, damaging vital ecosystems. With so many forests being lost in this way, reforestation is essential for the environmental recovery process. For every placement we make, we donate to One Tree Planted. This is just one of the ways we're doing our bit to create a sustainable future. You'll find more on this great project and details on how you can make a donation here: To find out more about this great project, check it out here: https://lnkd.in/d4xqjCC. #onetreeplanted #sustainability #reforestation #future

With current sustainability efforts in the sector rated at six out of ten, it can be difficult for charities to discuss their green credentials publicly and harder yet for them to know where to start building them. It is not a legal requirement for UK charities to report on their environmental impact. Yet environmental sustainability is becoming an increasing concern to charities, growing in importance for donors, beneficiaries, and funders alike. We explore the basics behind creating a great environmental policy for charities in order to boost their climate action efforts and prioritise sustainability. 🔗 Read the full article below ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/ehSyzene #CharityDigital #Environmental #NonProfit
