✨Meet our amazing Insider of the month, Lucy Greenleaf ✨ Lucy has been at Spacegoods for two years - "part of the furniture at this point aha" as our Head of Paid Content and has made such an impact in that time. We asked Lucy a few questions to find out more… What’s your favourite thing about working for Spacegoods? ✨ The people! It sounds cliche but I’ve met so many brilliantly talented individuals through the core team and our agency partners. Everyone is so creative and passionate about such a unique product range! Which Spacegoods value is your favourite and why? 🧑🤝🧑 Has to be CREATIVITY - I mean just look at the branding and creative! Rainbow Dust, Astro Dust or Gummies? ☕ GUMMIES. I travel a lot and am always on the go, this is the most convenient way for me to get my daily dose of goodness to help me focus. Aside from working at Spacegoods, Lucy also runs an agency called The Leaf Group building content systems for ecomm brands and she has also co-founded a community called Ecomm Girls Club - what a star! ⭐

There are two things that I hear repeatedly, and yet I believe are fundamentally misunderstood by many when it comes to creating content brands for kids. 1️⃣ “Kids today have shorter attention spans”. That may be true in how they consume content (I.e. they aren’t willing to wait around for video, gaming or a podcast to get interesting) but it also belies the fact that even if they prefer bite-sized chunks, kids are still able to deep dive, immerse and spend TONS of time with a brand - they will reward you their precious time and attention but only if IT’S GOOD! It's all about capturing their imagination as creators and brand owners. We need to adapt storytelling techniques that captivate both quickly and effectively. 2️⃣ The Audience. Let’s stop calling them that. If the rise of individual creators has taught us one thing its that these independent creators understand the importance of authentic connection with their community. If studios don’t get comfortable with bringing fans closer and letting them in they will eventually congregate elsewhere, next to a brand that does. Community building is a huge skill and the key to sustaining kids’ engagement. Understand and serve kids, and building a community will be much easier.

Hey LinkedIn Network, If I were to be asked "What I have been up to lately outside of Work?". Answer: I've been quite busy, blending creativity with strategic growth, and I thought it was high time to share what I've been up to: 🚀 Diving into Creative Opportunities: Kirsten Caldwell and I are collaborating on a possible creative and design branding agency. Our mission? To craft innovative marketing strategies and standout branding solutions for businesses, especially those in small towns and rural areas. Think fresh ideas, bold designs, and impactful results. 🧠 Exploring Human Potential: I've been delving into the fascinating intersection of philosophy and science. Ever pondered that human energy and drive might be like photons? It's a mind-bending thought that's kept me captivated. ✈️ Adventures in Denver: Recently, my sister and I enjoyed a scenic tour of Denver, hitting spots like Estes Park, Echo Lake, and Blue Sky Mountain. It was the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. 🎭 AI Meets Improv: On the creative front, I'm working on an improv game inspired by the TV series "Community." Using AI to craft scenes based on participant surveys has been a blast and adds a fun twist to our upcoming performances. 📚 Community Initiatives: Passion project, establishing a Marine Trades and Outdoor Tourism School in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. It's a project aimed at bringing valuable skills and education to the community. - note: Self funded passion project, if anyone is interested please let me know. In the spirit of reconnecting, I'd love to catch up with you all. Whether it's a quick chat, a brainstorming session, or a short-term project, I'm here to help. Let’s see how we can collaborate, inspire, and support each other. Feel free to reach out—let's make things happen! Best, Corey

COMMUNITY IS YOUR CURRENCY 💸 👩❤️👩 I recently purchased Daisy Morris (She / Her) book & am very excited to dive further into my fav aspect of social marketing: building *meaningful* communities! To me, community is *EVERYTHING* 💫 No matter how niche, there's a community existing on social for every single brand. They don't all exist on the same platform, they don't all like the same things, but they do exist. Community doesn't happen overnight, but with the right strategy your community on social can flourish ✨ Some key insights I've taken from Daisy's book so far are: -> Honing your 'why' -> Finding your unique voice -> Crafting a killer community management strategy -> IRL discoverability I can't wait to apply more community tactics to my client's socials ❤️🔥 Fellow marketers, how do you like to approach community building on social? 💭

Building a Community with Group Boards Group boards are a fantastic way to foster community engagement on Pinterest. Collaborate with like-minded individuals, customers, or partners to create boards where multiple contributors can pin content. This collaborative approach diversifies your content and increases exposure as contributors share the board with their followers. Set clear guidelines for pinning to maintain a consistent theme and quality. Group boards provide a platform for meaningful interactions. They encourage users to engage, repin, and share their ideas, ultimately building a community around your brand.

Penning the first post for my business’s LinkedIn page became a lot bigger of a deal than I had intended it to be. My brand’s first official message to the professional sphere that is LinkedIn? How does one go about letting the world know how much NEEKSVISUAL means to me and everything that the brand represents in such few words? Being a comms professional you’d think this would be light work but in true millennial fashion I overthought the whole thing. So after much deliberation I’ve decided not to start off by sharing some super clean graphics, stories about where I’m driving impact or a blog about how everything in my life has lead to this moment. Instead I’m candidly sharing how I’ve been getting my brain in gear this past month… getting clear on what my why is. Putting pen to paper to visualise the areas that are important to me as I embark on growing the business has been an immensely powerful tool. It’s allowed me to connect with my purpose and reinforce that the hard work I’ll be putting in will be rewarded with heaps more than material gain. So there you have it – a sneak peek into the creative practices and mindset tools I implement regularly and share with others through the NEEKSVISUAL Creative Workshops. To learn about how I’m: 🎨 Encouraging children’s creative expression, 🧠 Inspiring workforces to connect creatively, 🫂 Building networks and fostering community and 🖍️ Supporting businesses with their creative needs Check out my website www.neeksvisual.com or get in touch!
