as always an outstanding analysis. excellent point what is the common theme / skill that binds us. as you noted informs embraces a wide range of analytics methods from reinforcement learning to regression to linear programming. my observation is analytics without borders combined with operational research. THe OR in informs. as with an excellent general contractor we don't start with a tool... saw, hammer, drill... but assess organizational needs and then deploy information and decision technology to improve performance
