In our current series, we are introducing our project's public deliverables - their aim, impact, and the future steps they are the building blocks of. 💡 EOSC4Cancer's Deliverable 2.1 gives an overview of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the key datasets in EOSC4Cancer, and describes what steps would be appropriate to improve these SOPs. This deliverable is authored by Work Package 2 partners EMBL, Lygature, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and Erasmus MC. They are collaborating towards developing data harmonization efforts to make cancer research more reproducible across all Member States. The document's principal authors are Fotis Psomopoulos of Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and Fatima Al-Shahrour of CNIO - Spanish National Cancer Research Centre working within Work Package 5. The goal of WP5 is to identify and prioritize gaps in training related to cancer data research and to deliver training resources. Meet ONCOVALUE researcher: Luisa Conceição She's the Work Package co-leader at Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto (IPO-Porto). Together with partner IRCCS Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori "Dino Amadori" - IRST Srl she leads Work Package 4: 'Demonstrating the implementation and validity of developed solutions in different European cancer centres.' This particular Work Package aims to implement and validate the developed solutions in cancer hospitals. It will also develop and test advanced methods and visualizations by utilising large amounts of historical hybrid real-world data, with the help of machine learning methods, to ultimately support decision making at all levels.
