We are in the middle of a transformation process we actively started to make GG ready for the future needs of our industry. This is why we as a global team have challenged many of our processes, our organization and procedures. Also on operative level there was potential to increase effectiveness and efficiency that has been discovered and realized.
In this initiative, we aim to bring our colleagues before the curtain, showcasing the improvements they have made in their functions, processes they have streamlined, costs they have saved, and efficiencies they have enhanced. Here’s my take: if we’re going at it with an end in mind, we’ve already failed before we began.
Success to me is a journey. Into embracing and developing ourselves to become the best that we can be. Rather than be fixated on some mystical number and endlessly chasing for more, more, more.
It’s easy to tell when speaking to someone if they’re purpose oriented, or goal oriented. Purpose oriented people make better leaders, better achievers and ultimately happier and more fulfilled individuals.
I’ve heard stories of founders who spiral into depression shortly after selling their business. Same with high performance atheletes who have passed their prime.
Not saying it’s not good to set goals and outcomes, but we need to realise that those goals and outcomes are simply there as markers towards our self-development journey and not a be-all-end-all thing.
