Is cold brew still trendy? ❄ The National Coffee Association USA Specialty Coffee Report is now available and includes some great insights into the drinking habits of average American consumers. Interestingly, a whopping 75% of weekly specialty coffee drinkers agree that drinking cold brew is cool or trendy! 📈 But what the heck is cold brew and why does it seem like a "hipster drink"? Well, cold brew is simply a brewing style for coffee. At its core, it involves leaving coffee grounds in a large batch of room temperature water for 12-36 hours ⏰ Cold brew is actually how I began brewing coffee at home and learning about the flavor profiles of coffee over 5 years ago! Never thought I would be doing it as a job back then. Cold brew has a "hipster" vibe to it simply because it is far different than a regular hot brewed coffee. By slowly steeping overnight, the coffee flavors are slowly pulled out. Plus due to its cold nature, it is great for refreshing iced coffee drinks! Making cold brew is an incredibly easy process that yields a large batch of coffee for you to drink all week. It makes your buys mornings even easier, and your hot summer days even sweeter! Heat fresh spring or freshly filtered water to 185℉ to get the tastiest brew. If you don’t have a thermometer handy, simply let your boiling water cool down for a few minutes before using it. Add 8-10 ounces of hot water to your desired container, a teapot or teacup, and then insert the green tea sachet into the hot water. How long steep green tea depends on your tastes. But I recommend you let the tea steep for 3 minutes. depends on your tastes. But I recommend you let the tea steep for 3 minutes. Once 3 minutes have elapsed, you can take out the sachet and savor your experience. - okt2j8cvtf
