We are thrilled to announce the call for abstracts for the upcoming 15th World Conference on #Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) Generation of Electricity (#TPV15), and the 2nd International Workshop on #UltraHigh #Temperature #Energystorage, Transfer and Conversion (#UHTES), set to take place from October 1-3, 2024, in Madrid, Spain.
Here are the key deadlines for the conference:
Submission of Abstracts: April 30th
Early Bird Registration Closes: June 30th
Regular Registration Closes: July 24th
TPV-X Conference Series stands as the premier international event for the discussion and advancement of TPV technology. This conference series has been a significant gathering since its inception in 1994, marked by the inaugural TPV conference hosted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Copper Mountain, Colorado.
After a decade of virtual gatherings, the 15th edition of the conference is slated to return to an onsite format in Madrid, Spain. The return to an onsite format provides an ideal opportunity to celebrate the remarkable 30-year history of the TPV conference series.
Over the past three decades, TPV technology has undergone significant progress, evolving from early challenges such as the absence of efficient III-V semiconductors to the recent development of devices achieving record efficiencies exceeding 40%. The evolution of TPV technology into the most efficient solid-state heat engine has opened up a diverse array of applications across multiple markets. Notably, TPV technology is making significant strides in fields such as #wasteheatrecovery #portablepower and #energystorage.
This interconnectedness and the potential synergy between TPV technology and high-temperature #thermal #batteries are key reasons why the TPV-15 conference is being held in conjunction with the 2nd edition of the Ultra High Temperature Thermal Energy Storage (#UHTES) Workshop.
By bringing together experts and innovators in these fields, this collaborative initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding, share insights, and explore avenues for advancing both TPV technology and ultra-high-temperature thermal energy storage. It reflects a strategic approach to harnessing the collective knowledge and expertise to drive innovations that can shape the future of sustainable energy solutions.

1moWhat a ride! I remember very well when we started to put the first thoughts on a piece of paper. I remember how lost we were at some points and much more though a few magic moments when we had fantastic eye-openers and new perspectives. I remember workshops, customer feedback, board room sessions, project meetings, sessions to convince suppliers to make bold moves into new technologies. Frustration, enthusiasm, sweat and parties. Now we are here and the post says „ready for the finals“. Sounds like this journey is coming to an end and we will know soon if it was a successful competition. It couldn’t be much more different han that. The journey starts NOW. So far this was the prologue. Timevto write history and change the world. Time for NEXT LEVEL ENERGY! Thanks for an incredible journey together Matthias Bick Karl Nesemann Andreas Tügel Bernd Gessner Pascal Gutweiler Jan Bader Christian Tschendel Christian Halt @juergen Reekers Hariram (Hari) Prabhakaran Mario Vogel Michael Breede Joerg Stippler and many, many, many more. … whatever …. Now let’s win this final!!!!!
