When I wrote my article earlier in the week, I looked back on some other ones that I had done and you sometimes forget how long you have been doing what you do. This was my first article relevant to #onlinemonitoring when the late, great Dr Bernhard Fruth came to Aberdeen to support me and talk to our clients on the benefits of #continuousmonitoring for #partialdischarge in HV machines. This article was nearly 8 years ago 😱. I've now been involved in #conditionmonitoring for over 10 years, the last 8 having access different technologies for online monitoring. In those years I've seen many changes in the sector, seen good products, seen ones that don't do what they say on the tin and everything in between. I started Ailsa Reliability Solutions Ltd.as I saw a change in the market, where technologies and iiot are now more accurate, more cost effective and communication is where clients need it to be. Over the next couple of years we see more clients using online monitoring systems to monitor their critical plant as the ROI know makes commercial sense. I'm really excited to see more new technologies emerging and have been in talks with some very good suppliers who's products will definitely make a difference.

How cool does this look! But what exactly is going on? This is an application for AR which makes critical safety measurements easier and more reliable whilst keeping inspectors safe. Heavy industries like power stations, chemical plants and refineries need to make sure their pipes and vessels are safe. They test them using ultrasound. To maintain productivity, these measurements may be made by inspectors while the plant is running which means working at high temperatures. The equipment shown here makes those measurements easier and more reiliable. This reduces the time the operator is in potentially hazardous environments and also proves better data around the safety of the plant and which locations need maintenance.
