NEWS FLASH: Quantron US Wants to be “Range Leader” for Zero-Emissions Trucks in North America 🚚🍃 Germany-based Quantron has its eye on the North American market for zero-emission trucks, with their Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle 🌍 Key highlights include: 🍁 Canada's Ballard Power is on board to supply fuel cells 🚚 Plans to partner with North American truck manufacturers to nail down the chassis 🛣️ Initial designs include on-board hydrogen storage capable of 750 miles of range, with plans to eventually expand to 1,000 miles. Miami to LA with just two stops for fuel? Very possible! Zero-emission vehicles are becoming increasingly popular. In addition to pure BEVs, there are also hybrid-powered vehicles such as FCEVs, which also require batteries. Here we go!! A next step in the decarbonisation of our industry. As a first European truck producer we launched a small series with a hydrogen combustion engine. The small series of around 200 units is to be delivered to customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Iceland and selected non-European countries as early as 2025. The so called hTGX is an alternative to our battery-electric trucks for heavy applications such as construction, tank transport or timber transport. We have already been able to test "the new one" through its paces during our winter testing this year.   The new CO2 regulations at EU level will classify trucks with hydrogen combustion engines as zero-emission vehicles. This means that such vehicles fully contribute to our CO2 fleet targets, which also opens the door for this small series that complements battery electric vehicles. #MAN delivers! In 2025, we will be one of the first truck manufacturers to launch a small series of trucks with hydrogen combustion engines. The series will consist of around 200 called "MAN hTGX" for customers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Iceland and some selected non-European countries. This is an important way to decarbonize our industrial sector! Hydrogen combustion engines are a great addition to our battery-electric trucks. The trucks with less than 1g CO2/tkm will be classified as "zero-emission vehicles". Especially for special applications, a #MAN hTGX can be the solution to meet the planned EU CO2 legislation.  The engine of the vehicle has an output of 383 KW or 520 hp and a torque of 2500 Nm at 900 – 1300 rpm. The truck with a tank capacity of 56 kg can be refueled in less than 15 minutes with hydrogen compressed to 700 bar. The vehicles benefit from a high payload and a maximum range of up to 600 kilometers. That’s a great Teamwork!
