Today, our Infection Prevention team presented at Lunch at the Library! School-aged children joined the Porterville Library for exercise, lunch, and learning. Nancy and Elvia shared the importance of hand washing and handed out hand sanitizer to all the kids so they can stay germ-free and healthy. Thank you, Nancy and Elvia, for teaching our young community members, and a big thank you to the Porterville Library for having us this summer! 🌞

Last week, our newest class of GME Resident Physicians completed their onboarding and competency training. Over the next three years, these residents will be advancing their skills and medical careers right here at our hospital. We are excited to see the impact they will make in our community! A huge thank you to our amazing team for coming together to facilitate the competency process!

Welcome to our new Wound Healing Medical Director, Dr. Sylvia Maniscalco! Dr. Maniscalco is an expert in wound care and is excited to join our Wound Healing Center, in partnership with Healogics, LLC. Dr. Maniscalco chose wound care as her specialty because of the unique opportunity for teaching. "There's a visible defect in the skin that affects patients' motivation. You have frequent follow-ups every single week and that provides a different teaching opportunity, which I really enjoy." Pictured with Dr. Maniscalco is Dr. Dounies, our previous Wound Healing Director. We are excited to have Dr. Dounies continue to treat patients and guide Dr. Maniscalco during this transition.
