🤔 How to optimize the existing #grid? 🚀 One great solution: the #Netzbooster! 🔋 The Netzbooster is a battery system integrated with a highly sofisticated innovative control component which allows the Transmission System Operator to integrate this flexibility tool in our existing grid. This innovative technology developed by TransnetBW GmbH increases the overall capacity utilization of the existing grid. Under normal circumstances, the booster's battery system is charged so that the transmission grid can be utilized to a higher capacity. The Netzbooster provides precisely the safety buffer that is needed in the short term to keep the grid stable in the event of a line failure. ⚠ If there is a bottleneck in the grid as a result of a fault, the Netzbooster first reactively steps in and supplies the consumers behind the bottleneck with energy within milliseconds. In this way, the grid booster can bridge the time until a power plant can take over the failure. With that, the Netzbooster allows existing power lines to be utilized to a greater extent. This means that fewer new lines need to be built, which in turn reduces overall system costs while maintaining security of supply. 👷♀️ This week the official opening of the construction site for the Netzbooster in Kupferzell took place 🎉 congrats to all colleagues involved!
