Just wrapped up an incredible event among SaaS women leaders, and the insights were invaluable. The focus? Working "on the business," not just "in the business." 🌟 Every piece of content was spot-on for this targeted group of attendees. 💡 One standout remark summed up the essence of the day for me: "A department can't be crushing it if the company isn't crushing it." It's about ALL leaders understanding AND owning all organizational metrics—pipeline, ARR, revenue, CAC, retention, COGS, cash, etc. — because our collective success fuels the company's success. Kudos to Cassie Young and Primary Venture Partners for orchestrating an amazing event that hit the bullseye of relevance. 🎯 I'm thankful to all the speakers for generously sharing their insights and expertise. Reflecting on Women in Leadership Week 2023 🌟 As Co-president of ESMT Women in Leadership Club, Women in Leadership Week 2023 provided rich insights that resonate deeply: 1️⃣ The Power of Allies: Day 1 reinforced the importance of collaboration and highlighted the pivotal role men play as allies in fostering inclusive workplaces. Allyship is a cornerstone for advancing women's professional growth. 2️⃣ Tech's Inclusive Impact: Day 2 shed light on the transformative influence of women in tech. Diverse perspectives, as shared by our tech leaders, directly influence business decisions, paving the way for a more inclusive and innovative industry. 3️⃣ Entrepreneurial Resilience: Day 3 showcased the entrepreneurial resilience of women founders. Their stories and strategies in venture building have added depth to my understanding, providing invaluable lessons for navigating leadership challenges. Wrap up thoughts from IMEX 2023: 1. Ladies are rocking the game. Some of my strongest mentors, teachers, and partners have been strong female leaders with grand visions and the tenacity to see those visions through to the end. We know that the growth of women in leadership roles are steadily growing and I think the thought leaders I’ve had the opportunity to meet with and listen to this show have solidly been from the female in business perspective. 2. Events are for introverts too. I think IMEX has really excelled at not only creating a community of people that honestly enjoy their career, but also starting to understand what neuro-diversity really is: making space for those that think differently, innovate openly, and also need that time to recharge. I’m seeing less of a marathon mentality here - and quite honestly, it’s refreshing. 3. It’s all about the story. If that’s your booth, or your show, or even your conversation with a potential new client: if you’re not satisfying the human need for stories in your live experience marketing - you’re not succeeding. For those that shared their story with me this week, thank you. It’s been a highlight of my year to see those again that I have missed since last we spoke or worked together. It’s been a wonderful surprise to meet so many new people with such varied focuses and expertise. Thank you IMEX team - lovely job.
