National Careers Week is here! And we are kicking it off with an almighty bang! We are delighted to share how we are creating real life opportunities that are not only engaging, but also crucial in showing young people what they can achieve. Here’s a small glimpse into how we are kickstarting careers this week. Stay tuned as we share more stories in the coming days from our various teams! We are currently putting the final preparations on a huge Careers Fair for Cranford Community College, 210 Year 9 students who will have the opportunity to interact with 41 professionals from: Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Brunel University London, Royal Holloway, University of London, University of Winchester, West London College, Wates Group, VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd, Transport for London, GSK, West London NHS Trust, British Army, British Airways, Royal Air Force (RAF), COWI, Berkeley Group Plc, Kier Group, Haleon, Met Police Uk, Delta Capita, National Physical Laboratory (NPL), Accenture, Hounslow Arts Centre and University of West London The day will also include a panel discussion and focus on pathways into employment. But wait there is more! We are also organising employer insight visits for 110 of the Year 10 students. These visits are with leading companies such as GSK, Novotel Hotels, Holiday Inn, Berkeley Group Plc, Framestore, and the Hill Group UK to offer an in-depth look at the world of work, directly at source to demystify the workplace and help them feel like they belong. This initiative wouldn't be possible without the collaboration and support of the participating organisations. So a big thank you to you! Hope everyone has a great time and what a great networking opportunity it is too. Together, we're not just preparing young people for the future; we're helping them shape it by kickstarting careers. #ncw2024 #nationalcareersweek #CareerReady #Volunteer #YoungPeople #Education #Community #Engagement #Opportunity

| Providing jobs to latinamerican graduates & Students | Google for Startups| Coally Co-founder| Artificial Inteligence |
Key Takeaways from NACE CENTER FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND TALENT ACQUISITION Phoenix Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to attend a prominent event in Phoenix, Arizona. We engaged with leaders from top career platforms such as Handshake and VMock, and connected with university leaders from institutions like Columbia University, Miami College, Brown University, and others. We were proud to be the only Latin American platform at the event, and here are some of our key insights: 1. **Opportunity for Career Exploration Platforms**: There's a significant opportunity to create meaningful career exploration platforms that act as a GPS, guiding students through their career paths with clarity and purpose. 2. **Handshake’s Dominance**: Handshake stands out as the most important and comprehensive solution among career job boards, setting a high standard for the industry. 3. **University Challenges**: Universities face significant challenges in aligning career requirements with their course offerings. Bridging this gap is essential for better preparing students for the workforce. 4. **Need for a Validation Tool**: There is a pressing need for a tool that validates and certifies the skills students develop through workforce experiences, ensuring they meet industry standards. 5. **Beyond Job Boards**: Simply operating as a job board is not enough. Embracing artificial intelligence to complement job boards can significantly enhance their effectiveness, providing personalized recommendations and insights. Our team is excited about the potential these insights hold for transforming career services. We invite you to connect with us to explore how we can collaborate to advance career exploration and readiness. Let's work together to create innovative solutions that better prepare students for their future careers. Coally

There's this common denominator I've encountered throughout my years working with international students (and my experience being one)... That is, we often arrive in Canada with the wrong expectations when it comes to finding a job. We are currently hosting our Career Week at CICCC - Cornerstone International Community College of Canada, and we're all about equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive professionally. But this initiative isn't just about polishing resumes and acing interviews (though we'll cover that too!). It's about helping our students define their career paths, manage their expectations, and set meaningful goals for the future. Because without a clear vision, it's tough to hit the mark, right? 🎯 By providing insights and guidance on navigating the job market and honing essential skills, we're empowering our students to chart their own course to success. Because at the end of the day, it's not just about finding a job—it's about finding fulfillment and purpose in your career journey. So here's to unlocking your potential and chasing your dreams, one workshop at a time! ✨ Let's keep the conversation going and support each other on this exciting journey. Resourcing Manager at Higgs LLP - People Driven. Legal Excellence. Investors in People Silver Accredited Employer - email claire.rankovic@higgsllp.co.uk
🙌 Why I Love Going to Work: Embracing Variety, Challenge and Purpose. So this week has been what you would call "a bit of a week!" but all in such a positive way and it made me stop and think, I really do love going to work. My role as Resourcing Manager (loving the new title) brings variety and new challenges, never any monotony and keeps me intellectually stimulated and definitely on my toes 👣. Of course there are challenges but these push me to grow and develop my skills, providing a sense of accomplishment when I overcome them. Working in a culture that promotes continuous development is a breath of fresh air. Knowing that my work makes a meaningful impact motivates me to give my best. The supportive and collaborative team environment along with the flexibility and autonomy to manage my time is priceless, and with that comes ultimate job satisfaction. This week has been full of fantastic interviews, excellent events for #mentalhealthawarenessweek (shout out to Daniel Wilsher for his talk and Nicola Little for arranging our brilliant Wellness Fair) and then our Careers Event today with King Edward VI College, Stourbridge. It is weeks such as these that shout out to me, that this is not just a job; it's so much more than that, it is all about growth, excitement, and purpose. So my question to you is do you love your job? If you don't why not, what can you change? Life is not meant to be mediocre.
