Throughout April, The Sustainable Partnership & Sartre Group have been collecting gently used or unwanted new clothes that were taking up space in our wardrobes so we could donate to those more in need. Today we headed on down to the charity shop to donate two bags (about 5kg) of clothes to the Spitalfields Crypt Trust. Great work team, and we look forward to continuing our charity drives and making a difference throughout 2024! 👢👖👗👔👟👕 #chairtydrive #clothesdonation #april2024 #charityteam

Donors don't give to save charities, they donate to the cause. No matter how tough our current environment is in the charity sector, it's vital we don't see donors as simply cash to plug financial gaps. ✨️ Donors are our partners in social change - they want to work with us to create impact.✨️ Contining to focus on deepening relationships, telling powerful stories and communicating impact is the path to sustainable income. #CharitySector #Fundraising #StrategicPartnerships

We are at risk of having to cancel the UnCharitable Documentary Screening scheduled for Thursday March 14th at Manuals River! What if charity could be transformed from a gesture to an answer--to solving the world's greatest problems? What if everything we've been taught about charitable giving is wrong? What if it's undermining the very causes, we love the most? UnCharitable is a one-of-a-kind movie that shows how our charitable traditions and prejudices have suffocated the charitable sector and prevented it from leading the charge to truly change the world. While AFP NL Strives to bring great benefits and low costs to our members and non-members, sometimes we must charge a fee. The rights to screen this documentary, in addition to the cost to rent a theatre, meant we had to put in place a cost. Please know that we do not charge this lightly but do so to provide unique and valuable opportunities. Ticket sales end today - March 8 - at 4:00pm NST! Please consider purchasing your ticket now to ensure this event goes ahead --> https://shorturl.at/cGLSV

It was a pleasure to participate in the Reclaim Recycling Week Webinar Series, speaking alongside Computer Recycling and Aotearoa Food Rescue Alliance for the Reflection Friday and Spring Clean Weekend webinar. While we represented three distinct industries, an underlying theme was evident. We lack governmental frameworks and the appropriate supportive legislation to address surplus and appropriate end-of-life strategies. What is also required for many of us is to redefine the term value. We must unlearn a lot. Infinite growth is not a reality. Right now, we have resources that are wasted because either due to a lack of infrastructure, legal frameworks, or the desire to participate in circular systems, our electronics, food, and clothing are not going where they should be. They're going to landfill. Thank you, Nathalia Gonzales, for having us. We recognise the surplus in our industry; some 25% of clothing remains unsold, either destroyed or shipped overseas to nations that have even less capacity to deal with it than we do. What began as a need to clothe those experiencing financial hardship, our brand partnerships provide an opportunity for brands to manage excess stock responsibly while also engaging in social and environmental issues, having a positive impact on local communities. This year, we are on track to collect, sort and redistribute one tonne of clothing in just 12 months—recycling garments within a cyclic system. If you are a retail or brand looking to move dead stock or samples, please send us a message. #circulareconomy #fashionindustry #recycling
The last daily focus for the week is Spring Clean Weekend. 🧹📦♻ On Spring Clean Weekend we challenge people to spend some time at home looking at items that are no longer in use and whether there are sustainable ways to dispose of them. Whether it is through charity donations, or through identifying items that can be repaired, repurposed or recovered. Are there viable alternatives for disposal that aren't landfill? Make sure that items being donated through charities and hospice channels are in good condition and you aren't simply passing the waste problem to someone else. Follow @recycle.co.nz on Facebook or @recycle.nz on Instagram for the 10 Days of Giveaways prize competition. #RecyclingWeek2023 #SayNoToWaste #wasteminimisation #springcleanweekend #donations #recover #reduce #repair #repurpose

Turn your recyclable bottles into fundraising dollars in 3 easy steps! Transform your recycling routine into a force for good with the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic). Every eligible drink container you recycle can directly support Brite, turning your refund into a donation. Here’s how you can make a meaningful impact: Collect: Gather all your eligible recyclable bottles and cans. Select: Visit your local return point and choose 'Brite Services' as your charity on the collection point terminal or through the CDS Vic app. Donate: Complete your return, knowing that every container is contributing directly to our mission. During our visit, I started speaking to a talented 19-year-old artist. He shared his story and told me about how art has helped him through tough situations. I then asked him what his dream was... (anticipating a common answer from a 19 year old such as: 'to become a professional artist' or 'to go see the world'). His answer: "To build a community right here in Brixton that people feel proud of." 19 years old!! He then continued to share the following: "When we stop focusing on what we can get for ourselves, what we can consume...and start focusing on what we can give to others, that is when we experience peace." How wise? How simple? How profound... I am so thankful for meeting him because this interaction made me think completely differently about how I want to approach 2024. Instead of fixating on personal gains and individual achievements, let's prioritize what we can contribute to others this year. Who is with me?
Today we’re at Brixton soup kitchen helping the amazing volunteers here serve those in need. In the run up to Christmas, many charities see a boost in volunteers and donations which inevitably drop off in the new year, which is why we wanted to volunteer in January. It’s been a great day working with all the other volunteers and meeting so many new people. We’ve learnt a lot from the Brixton soup kitchen team today and it’s been amazing to see just some of the work they do. Find out more about Brixton soup kitchen on their website and please consider volunteering or donating to this incredible charity. #csr #charityfundraising #london https://lnkd.in/eMiiVKiz
