Looking back at a very energizing Innovation for Health event yesterday. "The combination of networking, catching up with many relations and making new contacts, and the inspiring lectures was great." - Edwin Van Den Bos My take home messages are: - Research is shifting to disease prevention instead of cure. I really hope that insurance companies and government also support this shift. - Organoids, organised stem cells can be turned into patient-specific models in vitro, which have shown to be predictive for drug sensitivity and specificity for tumor cells. - Sustainability: Pharma has a significant impact on climate change. It was an eye opener for me to see the high contribution of shipping product and samples on dry ice all over the world. Fortunately there are lots of opportunities to decrease carbon footprint. #Progress #LifeSciences #WeAccelerateImprovement

Many of my network colleagues ask me "What is Cytiva?" This is Cytiva ! Cy - comes from CYTO in Greek which means cell. Iva - an ending from Latin that means "doing" and "capable of, something that can (do)". Cells are not only the foundation of all life on Earth. They also hold the potential for transforming the future of healthcare. Check out this short video to learn how Cytiva supports the development of future therapeutics that can help realize our vision of a world in which access to life-changing therapies transforms human health. #lifesciences #innovation #futureofhealthcare

🔍 Centralized Positioning: Leading The Market & Welcoming New Entrants 🔍 The ever-evolving healthcare landscape demands pioneers who understand the power of centralized positioning. As the CEO of INNOVIA Biobank, I've seen firsthand how a strategic central positioning can not only position you as a market leader but also make new market entries advantageous. Consider the successes of INNOVIA Biobank, INNOVIA GENETICS, and BabyCord Stem Cell Bank. These entities, under the INNOVIA umbrella, have thrived because of our unique centralized positioning. Each brand benefits from shared resources, unified vision, and an ecosystem where innovation is celebrated. But what truly sets us apart is how we view new entrants in the market: 1️⃣ Collaboration Over Competition: We believe in building bridges, not walls. New entrants provide fresh perspectives, leading to a more robust, innovative ecosystem. 2️⃣ Raising Industry Standards: As leaders, we set high benchmarks. New entries often align with or even exceed these benchmarks, pushing the entire industry forward. 3️⃣ Client-Centric Approach: By centralizing our positioning, we’ve been able to provide comprehensive services, setting the gold standard in customer satisfaction. Grateful to have shared the stage with Steffanie Strathdee and Vincent Racaniello a few weeks ago at #SXSW. Here are three messages I am sharing following our #MedicinesGoViral conversation: 1. Viruses historically have been instruments of harm, but we now know they can be leveraged to do some real good in our world as recent development of cell/gene and phage therapies has shown. 2. We need to increase accessibility. There's plenty of room for cell/gene therapies to expand capacity and reduce complexity for broader access to life-saving treatments. 3. Collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem is key to keeping the world (including public policymakers and the #biotech industry) focused on #drugresistance. You can listen to the full conversation here.
