We have selected Sweco as EPCM partner in the implementation of Helen’s first production plant for green #hydrogen! 🔥 Production of hydrogen is set to start in 2026, with the aim of supplying the heavy-duty transport sector. The excess heat from production will be utilised in Helen’s district heating network and is expected to increase the plant’s energy efficiency to over 90%. As EPCM partner, Sweco is responsible for planning the project’s regional infrastructure, including architectural, structural engineering and plant design, as well as project management, procurement and site management services. I am thrilled to get this started! ”It is fantastic to continue together towards achieving Helen’s carbon neutrality targets, as part of the ongoing green transition,” says also Thomas Hietto, Business Area President of Sweco Finland. Let’s go! 🔥🔥🔥 #hydrogeneconomy

Great that the production of green H2 moves forward. Today, H2 production produces as much CO2 emissions as the global air travel or maritime, each 3% share of global emissions. So please, just replace the fossil hydrogen with non-fossil. Do not invent new use cases for hydrogen. Hydrogen for road transport would be laughable if it wasn’t such a serious issue. Since the storage and transportation of hydrogen are the hardest parts (not the production itself), wise money (read: non-oversubsidised by mindless gov programs) always puts hydrogen production and usage next to each other. Also, H2 for electricity is an energy destroyer, so please don’t do that either. There is one good in the told project, feeding the ”waste” heat to district heating. But hello! There won’t be any other H2 heavy teansport other than 1-2 of Helen’s own, both bought purely for propaganda reasons. There will be zero other buyer for H2 for transport. This has been worked out so many times. You need to google only 15 minutes to find that out. - Reality check! Battery electric costs 50-70% less to run now. By 2030 battery electric will cost 90-95% less than hydrogen for transport.
