The answer to last week's #PuzzleThursday was ✅ Box D ✅ The two internal figures each have a smaller & larger component the smaller of which faces and fits in the compass of the larger figure. Well done to those who got it correct!

No, you're wrong. {B,D} share the shape of {{'(',')'},{'[',']'}} with one other option; ( B:[] with A, B:() with D), (D: () with B and, D:[] with C).. it is therefore not about shape, but geometry. The geometry of C : (( and D:() are the same, whereas the A "smile curve" has distinct shape AND geometry. The answer is A - it is the only one with distinct shapes and geometry

Could you explain that in a bit more detail please?

I don’t understand your meaning of ‘compass’. Do you mean the space bounded by the line (curved or straight) and an imaginary line that joins the two ends of the line together?  If so, the smaller figure in B is not within the compass of the larger curve, rather than D. If D is the better answer then you must be using a different definition of compass, which shows there may be many solutions according varying sets of rules, which it seems must also be deduced.

Hm, I say B since it's the only one where the two pairs do not match in terms of whether they are full-overlap vs partial overlap. In A, both pairs have a partial overlap. In C and D both pairs have a full overlap. B is the only one where one pair (the curved shapes) is full overlap, and the square shapes is partial overlap.

The idea that there is a "correct answer" shows limited imagination. I think it shows more mental dexterity to see multiple solutions to the puzzle. You had to play that "one answer" game at school to pass exams. Seeing multiple answers is far smarter and also far more useful in real life problem solving. The limited brain sees one answer.

It is B it's kind of obvious since the two channels are both small
