In France, we recently obtained certification from the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais (French National Testing Laboratory). This certification increases the transparency and traceability of AI at Colas — and is an important step towards being compliant with the next AI Act to be implemented in Europe. For organizations to create a culture where Growth Mindsets flourish, I'd argue that the first team that needs to demonstrate the fearlessness and ability to try new things is the HR and talent development team. Fears we see blocking a Growth Mindset in HR are: 1. Preferring to be order-takers rather than change agents that lead businesses to try new approaches. If your mantra is "We'll need to see what the business wants" maybe it's time to reflect on what your blind spots are! 2. Seeking refuge in linking skills to employee 'bands' or 'competency-based' frameworks rather than business outcomes. We live in an agile world. Ring-fencing skill development based on tenure, qualifications and job role is so retro! 3. Embracing measurement of learning outcomes. Yes, it's difficult. Yes, it's not perfect. But it can and must be done!
