Exciting news for broadcasters and consumers alike! 3GPP has just published the technical specifications for 5G Broadcast in version 18.3.0 of the specs for 36.101 (E-UTRA), making all US low-power UHF stations 3GPP-eligible to broadcast in 5G. This development comes just weeks after the successful field trial of the nation's first 5G Broadcast by WWOO-LD, a low-power TV station in the Boston area. With support for the 108 band, 5G Broadcast is being tested to deliver local TV signals to 5G smartphones, transmit alerts to consumers, and provide first responders with critical information. It's also emerging as a potential complement or competitor to ATSC 3.0, the next-gen, IP-based broadcast signaling standard. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting technology! #5g #tv

Every journey starts with a first step, and as long as it may take, there will be a last one. This also holds for the standardization of 5G Broadcast in 3GPP which was started in 2015 with the famous work item on „enhancements for TV services“. The last step was taken last week in Athens during the WG RAN4 meeting when the change request regarding the usage of the sub700 MHz band could finally be agreed. All necessary elements of 5G Broadcast are now part of 3GPP standards, ranging from Release 14, 16, 17 to 18. Many thanks to all across the different industries who contributed to and supported this work! Additional features and improvements are likely to follow, however, from a standard’s point of view, the system is now ready for market. Future will tell if this paved the way to successful deployment of 5G Broadcast networks. #5GBroadcast #3gpp #TV #smartphone

Radio mode on TV screen for the good: As we play a TV channel in which voice is inconsistent with the pictures and also when we watch a movie through OTT platform or any means in TV with family and suddenly if there appears an intimate scene, I believe we would all want to change channels for inconsistent pictures and skip the movie scene to avoid intimate contents accordingly. However, if they are just a limited content say live game or just one unskippable show for a movie, we would at least want to continue on radio mode for both case and additionally continue with low voice for some time until intimate scene is over for those sort of movies. And Xiaomi Technology on my phone has a technology already that can be utilized by others electronics company if not owned by them. The technology is turning off the screens while video plays on background. Sony Samsung Electronics LG Electronics #collaboration #innovation #creativity #electronics #music

The TV giant you didn't see coming...and what their success can teach us. TCL has dethroned LG as the world's No. 2 TV maker. How did a relatively unknown brand achieve this in just a decade? Some might argue that they were able to do so due to cheap prices, but it turns out that affordable prices are not the only reason. Here's their strategy: The Power of 'No Baggage': Starting as a nobody, TCL let its products speak for themselves. No premium markup, just great value. Vertical Integration Wins: By owning the supply chain, TCL cuts out middlemen, passing savings to consumers (Fun fact: They even make the panels for their competitors). Practical, Not Flashy: TCL focuses on what matters – bigger screens, and better quality at lower prices. It's a strategy that's earned the trust of tech reviewers and everyday consumers. Focusing on core customer values can disrupt the status quo in a crowded market. #tcl #strategy #disruptive #business #growth

Handset makers #REALME and #OnePlus are allegedly mulling to exit the television market in India, says a report by Business Standard citing sources familiar with the matter. It is surprising considering OnePlus, Vu and TCL were among the fastest-growing TV brands in the smart TV segment last year. In fact, One Plus held the No. 2 position in the below Rs 30,000 segment last year. The possible reason for the exit as per the BS report, which cited sources is allegedly the high cost of servicing TV panels in India. How come the other brands including #xiaomi are still very much there. Is quality of the TV panels a challenge only with these two brands or there is something more to it?

Online reviewer, Rob's Corner, reviews the Samsung Electronics The Frame 55". https://lnkd.in/gEmpRaVs He permanently installed it to replace an exisiting 55". The immediate thing you notice is the clean look of The Frame and the stunning art mode where you are visually convinced it is art rather than a flat panel TV. He notes the TV comes with everything you need to do what you would expect with another Samsung smart TV but adds the huge benefit of what the panel does when you are not watching TV. He notes the Art Mode is aware of you motion so it turns off when no one is in the room but immediately displays art. Watch the video and then see the TEAM at the Precision Sales Group PSG to offer Samsung to your clients. https://lnkd.in/gCrB-avm #samsung #theframe #artontv #gallery #lifestyle #cedia #custominstall #psgreps
