Regenerative agriculture starts and ends with the farmer. They implement the practices, and they must benefit by implementing those practices. Companies like Bayer | Crop Science can help farmers make the transition, but we’ll only be successful if our efforts are focused on the farmer and help ensure that transitioning to #regenerativeagriculture practices makes sense for their operation. This was the kick off video of the United Nations Global Compact Leaders Summit 2023 yesterday in NYC: #ForwardFaster2023 The SDG Progress Report released earlier this year by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, showed that just 15 percent of the Sustainable Development Goal targets are on track, progress on 48 percent is weak and insufficient, and progress has stalled or gone into reverse on 37 percent of the SDGs. Not quite sure what to make of this. Cheesy? Inspirational? Yet, always great to see Al Pacino at his very best doing his bit for the SDGs. And it's still a good question - what are you going to do? One thing I'd like to remind all companies doing their bit for the SDGs is the fundamental underlying principle... leave no one behind. The best way to see that is as an additional value that your company adopts and factors into every single decision. The less people we leave behind, the easier it will be to achieve all the SDGs.
