🌆JOIN US on 19th July 2:00pm - 3:00pm for a Roundtable Discussion on: What does flexibility in health and care volunteering look like? 💹New data has revealed a surprising twist in the volunteering saga: over the last five years, we've seen 1.6 million fewer people lend a hand, even as our latest YouGov research shows over half of the UK population ready and willing to support health and wellness initiatives in their local #communities. So, where's the disconnect? ❓ #Flexibility seems to be the magic word. We all have busy lives, juggling careers, family, and personal pursuits. We're eager to contribute, but traditional, rigid volunteering opportunities simply don't fit into many people's schedule. It's time for health and care organisations to rethink their approach. How can we offer volunteering opportunities that bend and flex with people's lives rather than forcing them to fit into a pre-set role? Let's innovate, adapt, and unlock the potential of a nation ready to step up. 💪 #volunteerleads #vsms #ICB NHS BSW Integrated Care Board The Salvation Army Care Quality Commission REGISTER HERE & join the conversation: 👇👇 https://ow.ly/Oet050P0u6X #Flexibility #CommunityHealth #health #care #volunteering

I think the big 3 is great for when people present with serious health issues and medical health care interventions are needed which is what NHS is great at, it's the social drivers of healthcare (prevention aspects) before people get to a point of presenting where we really need to amplify as a volunteering strength. E.g talking with well networked and empowered people who are family and friends or in the place of these people before needing GPs and other healthcare professionals. This is primary care! We need to be more incisive about this and recognise it too that its also a big healthcare challenge that it's not always galvanised.

Archbright Awards 200K to Local Non-Profits that Provide Health and Wellness Services In 2014, Archbright endowed $1.8 million to be awarded over 10+ years via the Seattle Foundation in the amount of approximately $200,000 each year. The mission of Archbright’s Health and Wellness Fund was to encourage better lifestyle outcomes of Pacific Northwest residents. Shannon Kavanaugh, President & CEO of Archbright, contemplatively remarked on this endowment, "Health is not just the absence of disease, it's both health and wellness that is the foundation of a vibrant society. That's why we at Archbright have been proud to support so many initiatives that promote health and wellness education, research, and services. Together, we're building healthier communities for a brighter future." Grants were awarded this year (2024) to support these organizations: + The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. empowers people who are blind by creating diverse, sustainable, and meaningful employment opportunities. 📣Calling all #health #care #community organisations. ❓What does flexibility in health and care volunteering look like? JOIN US on 19th July 2:00pm - 3:00pm for this roundtable discussion! Why? 🤔1.6 million fewer people volunteered over the past five years, AND YET, our latest research with YouGov has demonstrated that over 50% of the #UK public is willing to #volunteer to support the health and wellbeing of people in their local communities. 💹The research also identified that people would be more willing to volunteer if volunteering opportunities are more #flexible to accommodate their life commitments. This reflects the wider trend of work flexibility in general. ❓So, the question for all health and care organisations is how can you make volunteering opportunities more flexible to enable more people to step up and support their local communities? We have invited national policy makers, leaders, and experts in the health and care sector to come to this roundtable discussion to share their insights and opinions on this matter. We hope this discussion will inspire volunteering leaders and decision-makers to think outside traditional volunteering services, and create innovative and flexible volunteering roles that can significantly impact local communities' health and wellbeing. Panellists include: 🌟Alex Farrow Director of Influencing and Engagement at NCVO, 🌟Dr Allison Smith, Head of Research and Insight at Royal Voluntary Service, 🌟Emma Valentine, Voluntary Partnerships Lead at NHS England, 🌟Ruth Buchanan Leonard from Macmillan Cancer Support & Association of Volunteer Managers, 🌟Dr Helen Gilbert from The King's Fund and 🌟Paul Deemer from NHS Employers Samaritans Rethink Mental Illness Mind Volunteer Recruiting Department of Health and Social Care Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Care UK Amanda Pritchard NHS Dr Philip Hammond Paddy Hanrahan Mark Lever OBE Sally Williams Sara Miles Kate Crossan Register your spot & join us on the 19th here:👇👇 https://lnkd.in/eRRcjmmq
