Clean Hydrogen for the future

When renewable electricity is splitting water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen in an alkaline/PEM electrolyser, a large part of the electrolyser capacity is turned into excess heat. By cooling off the heat in an efficient, compact and scalable way – we not only maximize the efficiency and lifetime of the hydrogen electrolyser itself, it also allows for further repurposing of this excess heat.

“In order to make a full transition to hydrogen, we need to have production, transportation and utilization working optimally. Blending allows for a gradual utilization approach as we ramp up our production and transportation capabilities,” said Ganesh Ramaswamy, Executive Vice President of our Industrial & Energy Technology business segment, at the FT Global Boardroom. Ganesh joined industry peers Mark Page of HH2E and Maria Persson Gulda of H2 Green Steel to discuss thModerated by the Financial Times’ Sylvia Pfeifer, the discussion focused on the question: “Clean hydrogen: can it be scaled up to significantly reduce global emissions?” “There will be multiple solutions to address varied situations because geographies will transition to clean hydrogen at different times. It is likely to take several decades before some of the traditional fuels get displaced and during that time period, carbon capture becomes an important element,” added Ganesh.
