🛻 🛻 🛻 🔋 Rivian unveiled not one, but three new models alongside breakthrough battery technology. Here are the details: New #EVModels ⚡️ The #R2, #R3, and #R3X are set to change expectations in the EV market, targeting affordability and performance. The R2 is planned to start in the $45K price range.   All three models will be built on Rivian’s new midsize platform, which features a streamlined design using high-pressure die castings and a structural battery unit that doubles as the vehicle floor, reducing parts and complexity.    Each car will come with NACS charge ports to facilitate connection to Tesla Superchargers.   Innovative #BatteryTech 🔌 With the introduction of an advanced battery system using 4695 cylindrical cells, taller than Tesla's 4680, Rivian promises higher efficiency and faster charging.    Their midsize EVs feature a 1000V architecture with up to 1,200 peak horsepower, supporting two battery sizes. Electric is power!

I've talked before about Rivian's design language helping carry the brand identity, but it's just insanely awesome to see them constantly take customer feedback into consideration and continuously work to improve the experience. As I dive into the finer details of this refresh, I can see why it's being marketed as "Gen 2" of the R1 electric vehicles! Things like: - Removing roughly 1.5 miles worth of cables in each vehicle by reengineering the electronic control units, going from 17 of them to just 7, reducing about 44 pounds of weight. - Redesigning the charge light bar with 10 new sectional LED lights for improved exterior visibility of your state of charge, also serving as additional hazard lights. - Refreshing the UI to keep things new, while using Epic's Unreal Engine to render all animations, and dual NVIDIA Orin processors for autonomy and image processing. Super excited about the new R1T and R1S, but also still very optimistic and looking forward to R2, R3, and beyond!

Rivian Automotive CEO RJ Scaringe recently spoke on "Bloomberg Markets" about the company's efforts in bringing the new R2 model compact SUVs to market.
