The beginnings of RENK's test rig expertise The beginnings of today's RENK Test System GmbH (RTS) date back to the early 1960s. Around 60 years ago, RENK engineers working in vehicle transmission design in Augsburg began developing test rigs for the in-house testing of future vehicle transmissions. At that time, the concept of the energy-saving closed load loop was developed, which is still the characteristic of many RENK test rigs today. These test rigs, which were unique at the time, formed the basis for the development of the "superimposed steering gear for tracked vehicles", for which a patent application was filed in 1965. This transmission, which made steering tracked vehicles easier and increased driving safety, was pioneering at the time and is still one of the main components of modern tracked vehicles today. Today, RENK's Augsburg headquarters is home to 12 test rigs for the development and quality assurance of various transmission types for tracked vehicles. In addition, there is one of the largest and most modern megawatt test facilities for large gear units for a wide variety of applications. Testing applications, which started on a small scale in the 1960s, are now an integral part of the RENK Group's activities and the successful business of RENK Test System GmbH.   RENK Test System GmbH – A member of the RENK Group Trusted Partner - www.renk.com   #number1intesting #testing #engineering
