I’m a podcast enthusiast. Some are interesting, many are entertaining, a few are especially insightful. This specific episode of ‘Funding MedTech’ (from Project Medtech) truly stood out. Thank you, Dr. David Kay for sharing your experience as a clinician, entrepreneur, and angel investor. This episode is packed with food for thoughts for entrepreneurs, and not only in healthcare. I really recommend taking a listen. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with me: 1. Overcoming habits and thinking outside the box is crucial in any field. Dr Kay used the example of surgical sutures and later explained: “We have to overcome ritual and it’s actually one of the single biggest issue when you’re doing something new.” 2. When it comes to funding startups, Dr. Kay emphasizes personal dedication willingness to take risks: “As far as funding goes, if I don’t put my own money in, why should anybody put money in of their own?” 3. But, in my opinion, the best piece of business advice, which is alsmot a philosophy in itself actually, is about the importance of time. “Sure, I’ve put a lot of my own dollars into this. But I’ve put also a lot of time and efforts (…). The single most precious currency is time.” Time is crucial in entrepreneurship of course, but this phrase is also a reminder that our time is finite and precious. Do you have any insightful podcast to suggest? Let's share recommendations! #entrepreneurship , #startups , #healthtech , #digitalhealth , #venturecapital , #angelinvestors
