Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR): Europe’s Path to climate protection AND economic growth 🌎↗ It’s been a pleasure to work with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) on their most recent study that explores the transformative impact #CDR has on achieving climate goals while fostering economic growth. Our key takeaways: 🌿 Climate goals: In addition to significant reduction measures across all economic sectors, CDR is essential to keep the ambition of the Paris Agreement within reach by neutralizing emissions from hard-to-abate sectors like cement, energy, steel, or chemicals alongside historical emissions that are still contributing to global warming.   📈 Economic boom: The CDR market could reach €470-940B annually by 2050 – this is at par with today’s global airline industry. Europe's (Germany's) CDR industry could reach €220B (€70B) per year by then, driven by technological advancements and economies of scale.   👷♂️ Job potential: The European (German) CDR industry could create up to 670K (190K) jobs.   🌍 Europe leads the way: With its tech expertise and climate policies, Europe, especially Germany, is set to have a significant impact on this market.
